The Biggest Game Releases Expected in the Next Few Years

The gaming industry has experienced remarkable growth over the past few years. It is something that has led to increasing numbers of players across virtually all games genres.

Everything from role-playing games to first-person shooters now has a bigger fan base than ever before. One genre that lagged behind until recently was the online casino one, mainly because it was still illegal in much of the US.

Individual states are now changing their laws concerning it though – with Pennsylvania being among them. It is undergoing a rapid rise in popularity as a result and you can try it yourself if you live there.

What this proves is that as long as people are allowed to play a particular genre of game, they will do so in large numbers. There are millions of people waiting for the next big games releases, in excitable expectation.

This article will look at some of the hot titles that are coming along in the near future.

Phantom Blade Zero

This game is believed to offer a blend of role-playing, stealth and combat elements. That will make it an intriguing blend of action and more in-depth world and character building.

One thing that is known about it for certain is that the protagonist is called Soul. He works for a shadowy group known as The Order, for whom he carries out assassinations.

He has been framed for the killing of the patriarch for The Order and must try to find the real killer to save his own life. It sounds like a great mash-up of genres and is expected to be released either late this year or sometime in 2025.

Project Mugen

Project Mugen has been highly anticipated ever since it was first announced almost a year ago. It is set to feature graphics that are inspired by anime and a role-playing adventure within an open-world setting.

That will provide more space for players to explore it in their own individual ways. But just what they will need to do is not yet clear, although we do know that the setting is an urban one inspired by Japanese cities.

Alongside the PC and console releases, Project Mugen will also be available for mobiles. Many think that mobile gaming is going to take over the industry and games of this quality will help with that process.

Silent Hill 2

This is a remake of a classic PlayStation 2 horror game. Fans can expect upgraded graphics suitable for the PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles, but the storyline will remain mostly the same.

That narrative involved a widower called James who gets a letter from his dead spouse. He travels to their shared favorite spot, Silent Hill, only to encounter a woman who bears a disturbing resemblance to her.

This is an eerie and unsettling game and the new and improved visuals should bring that creepy central idea to life even more effectively. That is what fans are hoping for when it comes out next year.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

The independent game Hollow Knight achieved almost instant classic status upon its release seven years ago. The ever-growing base of fans for it is why this follow-up is one of the hottest upcoming releases.

There are some changes from the first game, most notably the decision to make Hornet the main character this time instead of the bad guy. The deadly world populated by bugs stays the same, but the survival tasks and antagonists will all be new.

Everyone is on tenterhooks waiting for a release date, but all we know is that Hollow Knight: Silksong is in the works.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows

Assassin’s Creed is among the biggest action game franchises in the world. All of the games in this series have sold millions of copies globally, so a new title is a major event.

Shadows has been given a release date in mid-November and it will be the first Assassin’s Creed game to be set in ancient Japan. That means samurai sword fights in battles between the Templar Order and the Assassin Brotherhood.

Although every title in the franchise is eagerly awaited, the anticipation levels for this one may be even higher than usual. That is because fans have been calling for a game with a feudal Japan setting and now Ubisoft is finally meeting that demand.

This is certain to be one of the top selling games of the year, even with such a late release. Let us hope that it lives up to the hype that is currently surrounding it. Each one of these games has a lot of fans who cannot wait to start playing it. There are hundreds of new games released every year, but not all get that kind of attention.
