Things sure have changed since we were kids, especially when it comes to LEGO! That said, we firmly believe that you are NEVER too old for LEGO play sets, especially these!
1. The Back to the Future LEGO Playset
This set comes with the DeLorean as well as Marty McFly, the Doc and a skateboard! [amazon link=”B00DQC2FPM” title=”Retailing at $34.99″] it’s not a bad deal either and we may already have picked one up for a certain someone on our Christmas list!
2. The LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter 9493
This set comes with Luke Skywalker, Jek Porkins, R2-D2 and R5-D8 and the X-Wing measures over 12″ long and has retractable landing gear and torpedoes! This set [amazon link=”B005VPRG3S” title=”retails for $43.70″].
3. The LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon 7965
Yes, it’s another Star Wars set but seriously…it’s the Millennium Falcon! This set comes with Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Ben Kenobi, Princess Leia Organa and Darth Vader (seriously, can you say INCREDIBLY AWESOME?!) The [amazon link=”B004P95ABG” title=”retail on this one is $133″] but it’s totally worth it to see your geek completely freak out.
4. The LEGO The Hobbit An Unexpected Gathering
Because Gandalf, that’s why. This might not be the best action set of the LOTR LEGO playsets (hang tight, we’ve got one of those coming up too) but it’s a pretty awesome set all the same because it features Bilbo Baggins in Shire outfit, Gandalf the Grey, Balin the Dwarf, Dwalin the Dwarf, Bombur the Dwarf and Bofur the Dwarf, all with assorted weapons. Plus, the retail on this LOTR LEGO set is only $55.36[amazon link=”B00IZCSW3M” title=”Anker PowerCore Lite 10,000 mAh Portable Charger”] which is way cheaper than our final LEGO set of the day.
5. LEGO The Lord of the Rings 9474 The Battle of Helm’s Deep
This set is by far our favorite Lord of the Rings LEGO playset (yes, even though it doesn’t have Gandalf) because it has a castle and a bomb and a catapult. This LEGO set comes with Aragorn, King Théoden, Gimli, and Haldir as well as a small Uruk-hai army of four. The retail price on this one reflects the addition of the interactive castle though and it [amazon link=”B007Q0OUSK” title=”retails for $113.18″].
6. LEGO Star Wars Death Star (10188)
We admit that you have to be pretty spoiled to have this one in your collection but seriously guys, it is the Death Star! This set comes with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi™, C-3PO™, R2-D2™, Princess Leia™, Chewbacca™, Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight), Darth Vader™, Grand Moff Tarkin™, Emperor Palpatine™, 2 Stormtroopers, 2 Emperor’s Royal Guards™, R2-Q5™, and mouse droid. Plus, the Death Star itself measures more than a foot wide and has multiple interactive features AND its own TIE advanced Starfighter! You might not love us so much when you see the price on this one though, it [amazon link=”B002EEP3NO” title=”retails for a whopping $399.95″]…ask any geek though and they’ll tell you it’s worth it!
