Wooden iPhone Speakers Use Acoustics, Not Electricity

Okay, so it’s not exactly a secret that the iPhone’s built-in speakers aren’t that great. That’s the main reason why there are countless electronic devices where you can plug in your iPhone to play music over high-powered speakers. However, what if you didn’t want to waste the electricity (or, with some devices, battery life)?

Enter theiPhone 4 Passive Acoustic Amplifier Block, which is available on Esty. It uses carved wood to amplify the sound coming from the iPhone’s speakers, creating an acoustic effect. The speakers are composed of wood, finished with a combination of wax and orange oil.

Aesthetically, these speakers certainly make a statement. However, does anyone know if they actually work?
