What It’s Like to Climb the Tallest Structures in the World (with POV Helmet Cam Video)

Some people do it for a thrill and others do it because it’s their job. This guy must climb a 1,768 ft. tall guided transmission tower, more than 200 feet taller than the Empire State Building, just to get to work in the morning. Watching the video above, keep in mind that most of the ascent is a free-climb, with only a few harness stops so that the climbers can take a rest. How long can you last without looking away? Keep on watching, it gets really, really crazy when he reaches the top.

As a bonus I’ve included a photo snapped during Vincent Laforet’s climb of the Empire State Building in 2000, which oddly enough, seems harmless in comparison.
