FCC: SonyEricsson T650i too dangerous for the States

fcc_t650.jpg

We geeks tend to take FCC approval for granted, and we haven’t really heard of any high profile products not being approved. That cannot happen right? Guess what, SonyEricsson is stuck in a pit after one of their phones was tested to have just a bit too much radiation. The all flashy all metallic T650i’s SAR appears to be 1.8W/kg, which is 0.2W/kg above limit. Tough luck.

The bright side is that the phone will still be legal to fry our brains in Europe and the rest of the world. — Sam Chan
