Star Wars: The Old Republic Gets a Release Date (Finally)

Apparently, rumors that Star Wars: The Old Republic would be delayed until 2012 were false. Bioware has finally, officially given us a release date for SWTOR.

Star Wars: The Old Republic will be released on December 20th, 2011. If you’ve pre-ordered the game, you’re eligible for early game access (there’s still time to pre-order). Every copy of the game comes with one month of subscription time. If you want to continue playing after your first month, you will need to pay:

  • $14.99 per month for a one-month subscription
  • $13.99 per month for a three-month subscription
  • $12.99 per month for a six-month subscription

Pre-ordering the game also gets you a bunch of in-game bonuses, depending on which edition of the game you plan to pre-order.

Fans of Star Wars: The Old Republic are incredibly happy with this release date, since it puts the game’s release well before the end of the year. However, I wonder how the folks at Bioware will feel about working literally right up until Christmas?
