There are a number of reasons why someone would want to give up smoking. Maybe you’re looking for a new place, you worry about your health or cigarette prices in your neck of the woods are simply skyrocketing too high for your taste. No matter the reason, quitting smoking can be a real pain. Luckily, there’s an app for that!
Unfortunately, that app doesn’t work.
In fact, none of the 47 apps tested by a team at George Washington University were able to score higher than a 30 out of a possible 60 points — or 50%. In fact, the average score for the 47 apps was a comically low 7.8 out of 60, with several apps getting a score of 0.
Who would have ever guessed that people wanting a cigarette would ignore the objections of their cell phone? If people are serious about kicking the habit there are other, more effective methods that are readily available and actually work. For the rest of us smokers who want nothing to do with quitting, I’ll see you in front of the building.
