Kinivo BTH260 is one of the latest entries in the Bluetooth wireless headphone scene. These headphones are sweatproof, and are intended for sports wearers, even though leisure wearers can also try it for everyday use. I received a pair in return for an honest review. So, here goes my review of the product.
Specs
Kinivo BTH260 doesn’t actually introduce anything remarkable with regards to headphone tech. It’s powered byBluetooth 4.0. What’s really remarkable is the IPX7 level waterproof capability. It’s the same as the waterproof-ness of the Apple Watch. Devices with IPX7 designation can be immersed in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The packaging says that the sweatproof headphones are supported by nanotechnology, but I’m not sure what this means.
The Kinivo BTH260 has a rechargeable battery that can last 25 hours according to the packaging. It supports wireless audio and hands-free calling. It also cancels noise. The headphones supports AptX high bit rate codec and deep bass.
My pair came with a protective carrying case, a charging cable and a 1-year limited warranty.
Performance
At first glance, I really liked how Kinivo BTH260 looked. It has a thin headband, which I really liked. The thick ones can get tangled in hair and give me headache with prolonged use.
I wore these headphones to listen to music, watch movies, take calls and for jogs. I have to say I’m impressed by the sweatproof ability. It delivers as promised. I used to wear earbuds on the treadmill, which would get icky after 30 minutes on the treadmill. These held up. I could easily clean them with water when I came home without worrying. Also, thanks to the superior waterproof capabilities I didn’t have to worry about spilling orange juice on this one.
The battery lasts 25 hours so I didn’t have to charge it every day. Then again, I only used these for two or three hours per day. If you are one of those people who listen to music 24/7, then you might not find the battery particularly long lasting. The headphones charged quickly in like 5 minutes, another big perk.
As for audio quality, I found it ok, but not very impressive. Audio quality for music tracks was quite good, especially the bass. However, phone calls weren’t so clear, which is partly due to bad signal strength. I wouldn’t really recommend using these headphones when taking important calls. But you won’t have a problem with high-quality audio from music or movies.
Pros
- Thin band
- Good looks
- IPX7 waterproof
- 25-hour battery
- Charges in under 5 minutes
Cons
- Audio quality can vary
- Wouldn’t recommend for taking phone calls
Verdict
I really liked Kinivo BTH260. I have to say, I would much prefer it for sporty things like jogging and going to the gym than for staying at home and listening to music. They are very sweatproof and waterproof, so you won’t have to worry about a droplet of water ruining the device. Kinivo BTH260 connects very quickly compared to similarly priced devices. It’s affordable and delivers as promised. Kinivo BTH260 certainly has my approval.
