Greenlight means go: USB controlled Traffic Light performance monitor

trafflights1.jpg

This project from Imagitronics shows what can be done with a little bit of DIY ingenuity and a few pieces of government owned and hijacked traffic gear. Using a simple Mac app, this USB-controlled traffic light monitor is programmed to change color depending on the number of programs running, and more importantly, which programs were running.

Based on the fact that the modder was constantly being interrupted when busy at work, the alpha staged product lets people know, before they even try to bother you, that you are either busy or not so busy. The lights are customed to a user-defined threshold, so you define what entails busyness. — Andrew Dobrow
