Epic Star Wars Fan Builds Giant R2D2 — Using Cardboard and Duct Tape

We’ve seen some pretty crazy expressions of Star Wars fandom over the past few decades. However, Len Komanac (who goes by the name “DarthLen”) has created a gigantic, 96″ tall replica of R2D2. The real surprise is that he built it using only cardboard and duct tape.

The giant robot is composed offive air conditioner boxes, three dryer boxes, fourrefrigeratorboxes, a roll of aluminum tape, blue duct tape, glue, white paint and sharpie decorations.

According to Len, the construction of this gigantic work of art took him approximately 50 hours.

We have to say, this is one of the coolest — and most original — R2D2 structures we’ve seen in awhile. Unfortunately, it kind of makes my R2D2 trash can seem pretty insignificant.
