I’m constantly in search of the strangest lamps and light sources for my bedroom. The solar vertical lamp is much different than your traditional lamp. For one thing, there’s no bulb or electricity powering it. It’s a light source integrated into your window’s vertical blinds that has solar panels on one side that power a LED floor/table lamp or a stylish chandelier displayed on the other side.

Designer Marc Owens came up with a machine that prints out little sheets of paper with a date-stamp and time-stamp. Write in your own message, slap it on a street sign and boom: instant tweet. It’s like Twitter for people without friends. Something like that.
Solar technology is flaunted by the eco-geeks of the world because of the Sun’s incredible source of eco-friendly energy. With Maria Hamprecht’s design of this SW Solar Lamp the fashionistas of the world will now join the praise chorus.
The SW emits a lovely ambient, silhouette-like, soft glow. The kind of light that many photographers use to make their subjects look better. Leave the lamp out on the window all day, and enjoy beautiful light all night.
