Kassou Concept Wishes It Could Fly

What in the blue fuck is this thing? The strangest looking compact three wheel concept car we’ve ever seen, even stranger than the Cerva MC08. It’s called the Kassou, which means “glide” in Japanese and it’s from designer Britisher Dunderdale. It came in second place at the Car Design News Contest 2008, most likely due to it’s unique flexible rubber neck that is capable of extending the driver seat for improved aerodynamics or increased inside headroom. A side-car could also be attached providing an extra storage for bags and even bikes.

Dunderdale’s design scored the highest for “unique and appealing design” within the professional designer category, but what’s the deal with the wings? It can’t glide or fly, so what’s the point? It wishes it could fly higher than Rick James and that Maverick Solo Jet, but that’s not happening with wings like that.

Hydrogen Rolling Through

We’ve seen some funky looking, eco-wary transportation devices, but the “Ozone” concept takes the cake. It would run entirely on hydrogen powered fuel cells because as we all know, gasoline just isn’t cutting it anymore. The cabin of the vehicle is encased between two giant wheels that are controlled by two separate electric motors powered by the fuel cells.

I sure hope they didn’t design the cabin to roll with the wheels because that would be a dizzying experience. Controlled with a joystick as if you’re on a light cycle in Tron, the Ozone is the definitive future vehicle. It may look like a child’s toy but take notice: the doors slide 360 degree into its own frame.  That’s rad.

The Webble by BriteObjects is the world’s first active footrest. Perfect for anyone who can’t keep their legs still.  A great exercise device for anyone spending a prolonged time in front of a computer.  The cushioning is made up of a mesh membrane to add comfort and support to your legs while a set of casters at the bottom of the footrest give it the ability to swivel back and forth like your Bode Miller. For $139.95, your Dad would certainly be impressed if you picked this up for him for Father’s day.

The Walking Bike Offers A Helping Foot

Environmentalists will tell you that there are only two proper ways to get around in these days of global warming; bike riding and walking. Why not bound these two transportation methods into one? The Walking Bike from Max Knight uses specially modded wheels which have 8 sneakers attached instead of a typical treaded tire.

Not only does The Walking Bike look pretty sweet, but it is actually rideable. It might not be the smoothest ride you’ve ever had, and you might not win the Tour De France while riding it, but sometimes function must suffer for fashion. (more…)

If customizing your Segway’s frame wasn’t hardcore enough for you, I’ve got a whole new idea for all of you Seg-fans (but not so much her.)

This ultra-custom Segway adds two feet of wheels on either side of the device, effectively creating what I am calling, the “Monster Truck Of Segways”. — Andrew Dobrow

Topsy-Turvy School Bus Turns Child’s Life Inside Out

I don’t know about you, but if I was still in elementary school, and one day a bus like this came to pick me up, I would flip the fuck out! The Topsy-Turvy Bus defies the laws of reality by offering a mirror image of itself, on top of….itself.

At least if this bus were to flip over in an accident, it would almost always land on its wheels. (more…)

Nightclub On Wheels: So Fun, Only A Hummer Limo Could Pack It All In

A nightclub on wheels should be no surprise in the day of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Laziness in return for luxury is becoming the norm around the A-List teeny-boppers, and a Hummer night club couldn’t make that any clearer unless then Hummer fell flat on your head (which would also hurt pretty bad).

The Triple Axle 8 Wheel Hummer is packed with two compete VIP lounges, dance floors and disco balls, gullwing doors, and a Level 5 sound system capable of bouncing the Hummer up and down like some hydrolyzed Celica. For £350 ($700) an hour, it’s no cheap ride, but it might be worth not losing your buzz as you drive from club to club. Take the jump for interior shots. (more…)

Riding On Quarter Shaped Dubs

quarterwheels-1sm.jpg

Shown on display at SEMA 2007, these spinning rims are designed to look like you’re riding on a set of quarters. Behind the spinning blades is the image of George Washington as portrayed on the U.S. coin.

Not only are they unique in design, but these rims are absolutely gigantic. The rims pictured are a massive 30 inches. Wouldn’t have 25-inch rims been more appropriate with the quarter design? We’d still love to see some rims like these LED Bike Spokes. — Andrew Dobrow

Flowboard updates the skateboard for next-gen extreme sports

flowboard_1_1.gif

The mid-90s brought a popularity level of skateboarding into our culture, that no other extreme sport ever could. A mixture of more X-Games coverage and the fun-level of the Tony Hawk Skateboarding games, skaters are now a still a standard clique of high schools and burnouts. The Flowboard is the next-gen update of the Skateboard.

With 7 wheels on each truck, balancing becomes more difficult and new grinding methods are created. Which equals, bingo, more crap for skaters to master. They also look pretty bad ass too. Do you think the Flowboard will ever see the popularity of Skateboards? We’ll have to see if some Flowboarders arise from the ashes of culture. — Andrew Dobrow

The D’Vinci Forgiato Radurra: look ma, no rims!

radurra car rimsWhere did the rim go? If you fixed up your car and you think it looks good, but you don’t have these D’Vinci Forgiato Raurra rims, your car aint nothin’ son. These rooms are completely see-through! The makers cite their past and jewelry manufacturing, using a technique known as bezel setting which they claim “only master diamond setters can know”. With these rims, your custom high-performance brakes and suspension and your beautiful pimped out car will be shown off to anybody who you pass on the road. Radurra also offers many colors and finish options to fit custom car. Now for the size options, the Radurra only comes in 20 and 22 inchs, and a custom-built for each order that they receive.
