LEGO Fashion Show Animation Shows Off The Lineup

Anyone who claims that fashion and LEGOs don’t mix is lying through their teeth. That, and they obviously have never seen this video by Fabrice Pathier. It’s a CGI animation of a LEGO fashion show. It features actual designs from fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

While I’ve never heard the name because I’m out of the fashion loop, the video is still enjoyable to watch. The music is so fitting, it’s scary.

Weird Videos: Fan Made Zune Advertising Gone Wrong

Zune fans are PHAT. Yes, PHAT - pretty hot and tempting. They also have a vivid imagination when it comes to their own fan-made advertising. We think YouTube user ButternutJelly is a Zune fan, but we’re not so sure.

Clearly drawing inspiration from Tubgirl, he made this short film for Microsoft’s Zune. If it didn’t include a disclaimer, I’d have thought it was from Microsoft’s advertising team. Warning: it’s quite disturbing.

Watch Out! Sony DRM Is A Rough Experience

If you find yourself purchasing videos from Sony’s Playstation Network, be wary: You may want to read the Terms of Service thoroughly or you could risk the possibility of losing all of your purchased digital goods thanks to Sony’s DRM policy.

An Ars Technica forum-goer dubbed Noise found this out the hard way and warns others of this unfair policy. Having deleted purchased content from his hard drive in order to free up space - he later found that he was unable to re-download the videos.

“Purchased content can be downloaded to a single Playstation 3 or a single PSP system.” “Content cannot be redownloaded once it has been downloaded to either a Playstation 3 or PSP system.” “Consumer service can issue a redownload as a one-time courtesy, as provided by our guidelines, for the title to allow the consumer to go back and download the movie from their PSN download list.”

Noise may have lucked out this time with his “one-time courtesy” of a free download for video he’s already paid for but it’s his money and they should be his to keep for good. May this be a lesson and warning to all those who use the Playstation Network. Don’t let Sony screw you out of your money.

High School Surveillance Cameras Film Possible Ghost Video

Motion-sensitive surveillance cameras at a high school in Asheville, North Carolina captured footage that may show a Ghost in action. At just before three in the morning on August 1st, the cameras turned on and filmed a shadowy figure slowly walking through the high school’s rotunda. After getting these shots, the cameras shut off for 24 seconds indicating a lack of movement before turning back on and capturing more footage of what appears to be the same shadowy figure floating around the room.

Instead of calling in video experts to analyze the ghostly images, reporters interviewed people at a nearby restaurant and high school staff who speculated that the video shows “the ghost of some former student who’s really angry with his teacher.” Clearly, the local news media is more interested in keeping this story alive during the slow summer news cycle than they are in actually getting answers. Personally, I would have called in Ghostbusters to handle to the situation instead of the useless reporters.

DJ Spock Rocks The Enterprise

DJ Spock knows how to lay down the hot beats. As publicity stunt for the release of Star Trek Seasons 1, 2 & 3 on Amazon.com, CBS put this ad online that shows Spock, from Star Trek, hanging with Kirk on the Enterprise while mixing up some Vulcan rhythms that are so fly, your ears will turn pointy.  Bust out the beers, grab the Enterprise bottle opener, it’s time to get down.

Soda Bottle Robot Can Jump, White Men Still Can’t

Dong Han Kim and his team at the Seoul National University of Technology in South Korea have designed a robot that can jump up stairs using two empty plastic soda bottles. In spite of all the amazing crap robots can do, they often have trouble navigating steps. Kim’s ScoutRobot solves this problem with an aluminum cylinder that blasts compressed air from two 20 oz. plastic soda bottles. There have been lots of awesome things made out of empty bottles, but this air-powered robot is definitely the best of the bunch. ScoutRobot also has sensors that spot upcoming obstacles and estimate how much height is needed to jump them. Sadly for me and all of my fellow honkies, modern science still hasn’t come up with a solution to get us hops. Read on for a video of the bottle-bot getting airborne.
