Having a vending machine in your home might not be the most practical of solutions for serving yourself and friends some cold beverages, but it’s a nice alternative to your typical white and bare refrigerator. All you have to do is fill up the machine with 12 cans of your favorite icy brew (soda, of course). Just press a button when you want one.

Like most merchant vending machines, you won’t need any money to get your soda out of here, but if your really scrimping for change you can charge your friends a few bucks for vending access. That is, if you are a cheap prick. Available now for $159.95. — Andrew Dobrow

Japanese innovation. The Human Vending Machine is an oddity among a world engulfed with technological insight at every corner. This lo-fi vending machine, when compared to the Cmode vending machines of today which mix mobile phone technology with money transfer, might seems laughable, but we think it’s a strong statement.
It might take you a few more minutes to get your Coke, but the human touch is something we really have been missing from our lives the last few years. There are two separate windows. One for children / little people snackers, and one for big people snackers. If you happen to be in Japan, you might want to check out this novelty while it still exists. — Andrew Dobrow

ipod vending machine

What is the world coming to? iPod vending machines?! Yeah..sure it’s ridiculously cool to be living in a world where you can grab an iPod from a vending machine, but who in their right mind would invest $400 in a machine that most of us are afraid to put $2 in to get a back of chips or cookies? Another question. How long until a curious hacker discovers how to trick the vending machine? Surely not long. We are not surprised in the least that iPods are now being sold through automated vending merchants, but is this idea really going to take off? Or are we just bearing witness to a marketing strategy that strikes while the iron is hot? — Andrew Dobrow
