New Sony VAIO P Netbook From CES

Sony unveiled the P-series VAIO at the International CES this year, stunning laptop users everywhere. This netbook is nothing like others on the market. For starters, the form factor is long and thin, like a baguette of bread. It has a badass display, full-size keyboard, Vista, Verizon built-in 3G and the coolest part, an instant-on OS. Want to just browse the ‘net quickly or view a video? Open up the VAIO and an XMB-esque menu pops up awaiting your command.

FCC Leaks Up and Coming Sony VAIO Netbooks

Most people think the FCC is all bad and all that it wants to do is prevent us from enjoying quality television with harsh language and nudity. Well, they would be right except that once in a blue moon the FCC blows the lid on some covert hardware that will soon hit store shelves. This time the FCC has leaked word of Sony’s latest VAIO netbooks.

Yes, you read right. It turns out that Sony does not feel too high and mighty enough to not compete with the slew of netbooks its competitors have been selling like hot cakes. Not much but enough is known about the two new models known as the PCG-1P1L and PCG-1P2L. The PCG prefix is known to represent Sony’s VAIO portable line and the dimensions of these latest models match typical netbook sizes, approximately 9.5 inches long by 4.5 inches wide. We’re excited to see Sony showing interest in the netbook market and can’t wait to get our hands on it!

New Sony VAIOs Make My Mouth Water

Sony has launched two new laptops that are so technologically advanced that even the tech-savvy Jerry Seinfeld has to get his hands on one. The VAIO VGN-CS180J/R and VGN-NR485E/L are their names and it just makes me wonder why computers can’t be named in the same manner that cars are. The Sony VAIO Panther would be much easier to bring up in a conversation than the mindfuck of a name that is the VGN-CS180J/R.

The one pictured above is the NS series. It’s packing a 2.0 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, a 15.4″ display, 200GB hard drive and 4GB of memory all for around $600. Not bad.  There is also the CS series, where smaller means pricier seems to be the motto. The specs are about the same but this display is only 14.1″ and the price starts at around $920. Both laptops have an add-on feature for a Blu-ray, which increases the price to a little above a grand.  Also, no Sony VAIO would be complete without a slew of colors to choose from, just remember to choose based upon your gender and not your sexual orientation.  I don’t care what anyone says, pink is not the new black. Purple is.

Sony copies ‘Get a Mac ads’

vaio adAfter almost a year of delays on their mammoth of a game console and a recall of over a million burning laptop batteries, Sony has decided to make themselves “cool” again by cloning Apple. Apple’s now infamous “Get a Mac” ad campaign is being duped by Sony Australia’s C-Series VAIO, which claims to be a “non-PC PC.” The VAIO ad features the typical ‘dressed up’ PC and the ‘laid back’ Mac, but has a young women in stylish clothes as the VIAO. The strangest part of this new campaign to us is that a VAIO runs Windows XP, making it a PC. Don’t tell Sony that though, they’ve got a lot of making up to do after their disastrous year. — Zach Wilt
