If Tangled Wires Are Art…

tanglelamp

If tangled wires are actually pieces of art, I’ve been creating bundles of cultural significance for decades now. I will gladly sell the heap of tangled mess which I am staring at right now. It’s just sitting here being all artsy and stuff right next to my desk anyway. Let the bidding commence.

While you’re all fighting over my masterpiece, allow me to introduce you to a piece of art which is slightly less full of shit. The Tangle Lamp made by ceramicist Jo Davies and photographer Matthew Booth integrates a wad of tangled cabling (which just so happen to be in active, so don’t worry about any electrical “mishaps”) right into the actual fixture. the result is supposed to represent the ultimate cable management system and is probably supposed to reflect the angst of the human condition… or something like that.

Tangle Free Cord-Holding Bag Can’t Hold My Manhood

Hate dealing with wires as much as I do? The EZ Cord Bag is designed for unruly people like us who can’t maintain a group of wires without having them end up entwined with one another.  Perhaps the easiest way to hold an extension cord, the EZ Cord Bag holds up to 100 feet of cord tangle-free.  With a built-in shoulder strap for extra easy portability, it’s a surprise this bag sells for a mere $20.

Though, I must warn you. If you’re trying to use this bag as extra support for your over-sized pecker, it will not fit. I had a terribly embarrassing experience with an EZ Cord Bag on the opening night of Iron Man.  You see, my girlfriend was going down on me at the concession stand, holding my member in her hand as if it were a never-ending string of Gobstoppers. All the while, I’m enjoying the movie several feet away with my EZ Cord Bag packed in between my girlfriend and I as an intermediary.  When the movie was over and my girlfriend was no where to be seen, I scrambled to my feet leading me to trip over my EZ Cord Bag. The bag tore my manhood’s root out of my pelvis and I let out a blood curdling scream. I passed out and awoke in a hospital, vowing to use the EZ Cord Bag for cords only in the future.

Tangling Your Wires On Purpose = Art

kwang_ho_lee_forest_of_wire.jpg

Accidentally tangling your wires into a knotted mess really sucks. Doing the same thing in a organized, purposeful fashion, can be pretty damn gorgeous. Take a look at these light installations from designer Kwangho Lee. Lee has mastered the art of tangled wires in the form of lighting fixtures.

The original concept was to strip your average everyday lamp down to it’s bare hardware. Over a two-year span, the project evolved into creating tangled wire sculptures for adding a deranged angle of lighting to a room. Attempting to untangle this mess is not recommended.
