Everything There Is To Know About Starcraft (Infographics)
There have been two, count ‘em, two awesome infographics released in the past few days which illustrate almost anything you’d want to know about Starcraft, Starcraft economy and Starcraft’s effect on gaming culture, specifically Korean culture. After the jump, check out these two awesome infographics. So much Starcraft trivia, it hurts. But it hurts so good.
LEGO StarCraft: Because You Can’t Spell Brick Without Jim Raynor (Um, Well, Actually…)
You know what they say about stop-motion? Each minute of footage takes about 6-7 hours to film, give or take. Sure, it’s labor intensive. I’ll give them that. But can it handle the superb sci-fi RTS action of StarCraft? It can… to a certain point. While it sure as hell looks awesome, even LEGO bricks can’t solve the problems of this Terran. No northern defenses means death from above in this case. Koobz Stuidos did a kick ass job of... Continue reading
Time to Catch Up on Your Starcraft Lore
Starcraft II is almost here. Tomorrow, one of the most highly-anticipated game sequels in history will be released. Its been well over 12 years since the release of the original game so we won’t hold it against you (too much) if you’re a little rusty on your Starcraft lore. This quick video will fill you in on all the details that might have slipped your mind over the past decade or so. So, before you take the jump into Starcraft... Continue reading
8-Bit Starcraft
Sure, it might not exist, but somebody should so develop this game and submit to the App Store. Odds are that it wouldn’t be approved because of copyright and all of that jazz, but just on the off chance that it is approved, it would totally be worth the effort. Okay, now I sorta wish Blizzard had been developing games in the 80s. To this day I still prefer the casual retro games to the bloated consumer fest that gaming... Continue reading
LEGO Terran Battlecruiser
Based on the iconic design of the Terran’s Battlecruiser unit in Starcraft, this LEGO brick piece of sci-fi gaming culture was created by Flickr user Jerac. Seeing the old Battlecruiser again brings back bittersweet memories. So much fun, so much time gone. Were all the wasted hours worth it? Just ask my competitors. Yo’ goin’ down Zerg-y-poo. Link [via]
Starcraft Cake: Have Your Zerg and Eat Them Too
Mmm… Starcraft cake. It looks tasily Zergalicious. This custom Starcraft cake was handmade by some Blizzard fanatic’s awesome girlfriend. Take our advice. Don’t let this chick go. So, would a hatchery taste sort of like caviar? How does that work? Link
Blizzard Working On New Franchise
While World of Warcraft is the king of the MMORPG world and Starcraft is busy keeping people in Korea busy, sometimes a little change can be good. According to the Internets, Blizz is working on a brand new franchise that will be released in MMO-form. Looking for details or a release date? Don’t hold your breath. They’ve still got Starcraft II and Diablo III in the works. Link
Halo Wars Gameplay Video
While Halo Wars continues to be developed in the dark, a new video has popped up showcasing some beautiful cut scenes as well as game play. Does it look like a Starcraft killer? No, but it looks fun as hell building bases and riding warthogs around like a drunken sailor. I’ll hold my judgment for when a playable demo comes out. Link
Blizzard Takes Pranking To A New Level, Thinks You’re An April Fool
Blizzard went all out this year for their April Fool’s day festivities, and I am loving it! Blizzard has released four April Fools’ themed pranks on their official website. Have you heard about the new face-melting Bard hero class in World of Warcraft which integrates Guitar Hero-like gameplay to the MMO? Or how about that Blizzard will be giving WoW the console treatment? Be sure not to miss the newly announced Tauren marine units for Starcraft II and a new... Continue reading
Protoss As Paper: Starcraft Origami
With the long awaited Starcraft sequel on its way from Blizzard, we should be seeing more and more of these Starcraft fanboy projects popping up, like back in the good ole days of Starcraft on Battle.net. These Starcraft Origami pieces were made by a South Korean Starcraft fan. We will be eagerly awaiting instructions on how to fold our own. We’ll be patient…DAMMIT, just tell us how to do it or we’ll Zerg rush you. — Andrew Dobrow Link
