The Rubik’s puzzle has long been known for its cube-shaped colorfulness. Despite a few exceptions, the Rubik’s Cube remains just that, a six colored cube. Globus is just one big ball of productivity. Closed, it acts as a piece of spherical art, drawing curious onlookers to scope out the design. When opened, Globus reveals that it holds a pull-out office, complete with a laptop tray and spherical seat.

We know that this is only a concept, but we have to say that the ergonomics of this thing definitely look like they need some work. I picture my back being stiff for a week after one session on this thing, as well as scrunched legs and awkward elbow placement. The idea is a cool one though, especially for public areas that want to maintain a slick modern design with full dynamic functionality. Bah, they should just load up on Battle-Rigs. (more…)

Today must be the day of oddities. The Air Genie is a flying orb shaped screen which has video cameras built in to reflect it’s surroundings. We think that its some sort of ploy for advertising, kind of like the Goodyear Blimp, but extremely high tech.

The diameter of the sphere is 115 feet with a massive volume of 792,764 cubic feet. The Air Genie flies using a series of electrical prop rings and can reach speeds of 36 km/hr.
