Calvin Klein One Cologne Bottle With Speaker

calvin-klein-we-are-one-speaker-450x513

I haven’t work CK One since the sixth grade I think. No matter. Calvin Klein was never about a fantastic smelling cologne for men. No, this is about a movement. An idea of fashion. This limited edition version of CK One sums it all up by saying “We are one and we will remain one.” It also says “You can purchase me with a free gym bag at Macy’s for $39.95!”

But interestingly, this time around, CK One comes with a speaker. Yes, a speaker. Before you talk shit, think about how small this speaker is. Wouldn’t it be great for the bathroom and getting ready in the morning? Your closet whilst putting a tie on? Exactly. And even better, why not hack it? What if you added an amplifier or add infrared remote control? The possibilities my friend, are endless.

Crank It Up: Solar-Energy FM Radio

So this isn’t really anything extravagant, but sometimes the best gadgets are the ones that operate in a simple fashion. This AM/FM radio has a bit of a DIY look with the old-school silver button on the top and the solar panel feeding it energy. There’s also a hand crank in case you live in Seattle or Alaska. It can’t do anything special, it just cranks out some classic tunes from the radio. Perfect for listening to WHYY whilst working at your desk. At $25, it’s a nice little bargain and a fantastic gift idea.

USB Spring Speaker

Either we can sit around cracking jokes about how this speaker looks like a certain phallic object or we can get on to the specs like professional adults. You’d rather crack dick jokes? OK, I’ll wait.

Good. Now that you’re done, let me give you the 411 on this speaker. It’s called the Spring Speaker and it has a whopping 4 watts of power. Before you get all disappointed, let me tell you about how you can charge this fucker via USB for up to four hours of playback time. Not too shabby, eh? Right. It comes with a headphone jack and a USB jack to ensure complete connectivity.

Back to your penis jokes, folks. Nothing to see here.

I-Dog Joins The KISS Army

Straight out of Hell and right under your Christmas tree is this hotter than Hell KISS-themed I-Dog. Who rocks harder than KISS? That’s right: no one. The dog sports Gene Simmons’ Demon face paint, but also shows some love to Paul Stanley with stars for the Star Child.

It plays back music via a built-in speaker and also puts on an electronic light show, all for just 30 bucks. If this dog was a real supporter of KISS, it’d drop the sassy light show and get to work on some pyrotechnics.

Easy DIY: Cardboard iPod Speaker/Stand

Here’s a decent mod, albeit not a beautiful one. Take an iPod Touch and strap a cardboard box to the back with a ghetto speaker inside it. Poke out a few holes, wire up a headphone jack and boom, instant portable speaker. It also does a decent job of keeping the iPod upright. Genius? No, but the ability to blast “Crank Dat Batman” at the wee hours of the morning makes it all the better. I have to admit, though, I’ve seen better.

The Cheapest DIY Speakers You’ll Ever Craft

This is about as cheap as it gets when it comes to DIYin’ your own speakers for an iPod. Designer Dmitry Zagga fashioned these together after having his credit card declined at the Apple Store. Look who’s laughing now. They’re just like the clubhouse telephones of days past, where simply attaching a string to two ends of a can fashions together a communication device unlike any other.

These speakers are just as simple to make, too. Get four paper cups. Punch holes in the back of two of them. Place them on top of the other two, linking them together with two tooth picks. Then, stick your earbuds through the holes. It’s ghetto magic!

Following Target, Best Buy Gets New Gift Cards

Target must be pissed. The company approaches the holidays with new gift cards that have a built-in 1.2-megapixel digital camera and what does its competitor, Best Buy, do? Best Buy tries a different route with gift cards that have speakers built in to them.

While not nearly as cool as Target’s concept, Best Buy has gotten this far by offering bullshit services like pairing your Bluetooth headset with your phone for $10 bucks. Being able to plug your gift card into your iPod right before you clear the $50 credit at the cash register seems pointless to me. Let’s see if Best Buy follows the way of Circuit City.

My Girlfriend’s Holiday Speaker

Christmas is just around the corner and I, being the nice Jewish boy that I am, have completed my shopping early. I picked up this I-MU Vibro Speaker for my girlfriend. The lady has been begging for a Sybian for years now because I lack the stamina in the sack. She also happened to need a new speaker for her iPod.

So, I killed two birds with one stone by paying only $56 bucks for this vibrating speaker. Now, she’ll be able to listen to her favorite Josh Groban album while she straddles this speaker in between her legs. All the while, I can relax and watch C-SPAN all night without interruption. Life is good.

Public Service Announcement On The Go

You don’t need a DJ Mobile to be able to make public announcements over a loud speaker. Take a look at this briefcase.  It’s transportable and it’s got a built-in sound system that includes a 20-watt amplifier and 4″ speakers.  While it may not have a toilet inside of it like the Gotta Go Briefcase, it’s got the next best thing.

What’s the next best thing, you ask? The ability to be able to announce to everyone that you’ve divorced Carolyn and you’re eloping with Sarah Palin. It can be powered for up to four hours by eight C batteries or an AC plug. At $350 bucks, embarrassing unwanted attention awaits you.
