Beer Pouring Robot Might Be Mistaken As A Retro Gas Station Tank, But DOES Replace Your Wife

College kids and middle-aged beer drinkers will be absolutely thrilled to hear about the Robot Pouring Robot (not to mention underage “rebels” since nowhere on this bot do we see a way to check for ID). Not only does the robot mean you don’t have to get off your ass to fetch your own beer, but it also means you don’t have to nag your lady to do it for you.

The Beer Pouring Robot is powered via remote control, where the controller can actually converse with the drunk customer on the other side of the line. Add in pretzel dispensing functionality and we’ll be in business. — Andrew Dobrow

Paintball Robot Will Shoot, Survive Nuclear Attack

So you might be a decent paintballer, but as a human, your body reacts to being pelted by projectile objects. The Paintball Robot on the other hand, has no nerve endings to speak of. Shoot him all you want. It won’t change the fact that your ass is going down.

Created by builder Che Edoga, “Gepetto” is made with wood and metal, operated by remote control, and fully capable of owning you and all of your friends on the paintball battlefield. — Andrew Dobrow

Soccer Ball Remote Control Puts Your Feet Where Your Hands Are

soccer.jpg

Perhaps if U.S. soccer organizations were to market products like this, soccer would be as popular in the states as it is worldwide. We’ll be the first to admit we know almost nothing about soccer. We doubt we’ve even ever watched a complete professional game. Despite our lack of soccer fanfare, we’d be among the first in line for this excellent Soccer Ball Remote Control.

Just like any other universal remote, the Soccer Ball Remote can be used with most TVs, DVD players, and satellite boxes. The remote has a range of about 25 feet, perfect even for a large home theater. There might be better designed and more practical remotes out there, but surely none you can kick as far as this one. — Andrew Dobrow

Remote Controlled Camera Phone Through SMS

_remote-controlled-camera-f.jpg

Damn, this is one impressive project. This dude put together an incredible mod which allows you to control a camera phone through SMS messages. Pretty much making your cellphone a remote control for the hacked camera phone. When a message is sent to the hacked device, a set of relays activate the phones interface, navigating to the camera application.

After the photo is taken, the camera phone sends the image back to the device you sent the text message from. It all sounds a tad bit confusing and the hacked device itself is ugly as sin (although beautiful in a DIY sort of way), though a great video tutorial on the source explains the concept more thoroughly. — Andrew Dobrow

Bracelet Remote Control Gives Ladies Something Else To Do With Their Fingers

bracelet_remote.jpg

If Pencil Jewelery wasn’t geeky enough, how about a bracelet that can control your devices? The Orbit Remote gives a dash of femininity to the masculine facade of the remote control.

All of the needed controls are right on the bracelet, so if your boyfriend is ever watching the football game, but you really want to watch that made for TV movie on the Lifetime channel, you can play with his mind a bit. You are woman, hear you click. — Andrew Dobrow

Internet Safety Remote Control can save your child’s virgin eyes

netguard.jpg

It’s scary what the Internet can do to someone that isn’t prepared to handle its greatness. Children, for example, don’t have the capacity to know when they’ve just been on the damn thing too long. Their eyes could be bleeding and their finger could be blistered from typing, yet they would continue on to the Nickelodeon site, regardless. If you’re worried that your kid spends too much time on the Internet, there is a very unsubtle go about getting them off.

This Internet Connection Remote Control controls the connection on your home PC much like one of those contraptions that lock your car or set its alarm remotely, except without the cool “beep, beep”. Pressing off cuts the connection, essentially cock-blocking their way to Internet goodness. Just don’t tell our girls about this. We don’t want them getting any ideas. Available for $39.95. — Andrew Dobrow

Rumor: iPhone to double as a remote for Apple TV

apple_media_center_1.jpg

You might want to keep this on the down-low for now. Shhhhh! But the rumor mill is piping out some info that might make some Apple fans very happy. The multitouch iPhone might just have another feature added on that wasn’t formally announced. We heard from a bunch of gossiping old Jewish mothers that the iPhone might feature the capability to control Apple TV as a remote control.

The excerpt from the patent you see above is an official Apple submitted patent, but will it be cleared in time for a release? And does it matter? The patent hints that the iPhone might have features that make it more of a multi-media device than just a telephone enabled iPod, which would actually be fine with us if the features stayed the same. Though a nice remote feature wouldn’t hurt. Maybe even a remote feature for our MacBooks? — Andrew Dobrow

Light Saber Remote Control makes Jedi jealous

light_saber_remote_w.jpg

Remote controls are usually a dime a dozen. A flat piece of plastic with assorted buttons strewn on one side is a nice generic description of most remote controls. The Light Saber Remote Control adds some flavor to the same old, same old. Design company Taito, designed the Light Saber Remote out of sheer spite for the conforming designs of remote controls, while adding a geek enhanced skin of Star Wars fanaticism.

The Light Saber measures 7.87″ in length and contains the same general control buttons you might find on a normal remote control. They come in a selection of either off-white color or a black/off-white color. For only $20, you can own a remote that recently deceased remote control inventor Richard Adler would be proud of displaying. — Andrew Dobrow

A Weemote for the wee kiddies

w2propage.jpg

Not to be confused with the Nintendo “Wiimote”, the Weemote is a remote control made especially for the kiddies. Should we really be promoting the television watching habits of children? Come on, go play outside or something. But despite our opinion of children getting off their asses, the Weemote could be good if it fits your need.

If you have one of those really expensive touchscreen remotes, you probobly don’t want your kid’s grubby fingers all over your prized gadget. We don’t blame you one bit. The Weemote could be a nice solution, and much cleaner then cutting off their little digits.

The bright colors are attractive to their growing brains, which will be promptly stopped from blooming for the subsequent 10 hour marathon of Dexter’s Laboratory. No baby genius’ for you. — Andrew Dobrow
