If Video Games Were Real Life…

Sometimes realism isn’t exactly what we want in our video games. We want to escape, not be hassled by the reality of… reality. Cracked.com hosted an awesome Photoshop contest, encouraging  their users to come up with ways to make video games just a tad more realistic, hence somewhat less playable. Bat and Robin T-Shirt

bat_and_robin

While Bat and Robin might not be quite as “super” as the real dynamic duo, I could totally see a spin-off Saturday morning cartoon series featuring these two menacing flying creatures.

The Bat and Robin shirt takes a literal look at Batman, depicting what the comic could have been if the artists had decided to take a different course. This awesome shirt is still in the voting process on Threadless, but you can expect to see this for sale eventually.

The “I Love Realism” t-shirt illustrates just how different life would be if reality really was reality. An anatomical heart replaces the heart symbol on this anti-abstract tee. I imagine playing poker would have a whole new gory spin as well. Can you stomach the four of hearts?

GTA IV scans revealed!

Though GTA IV might be causing more controversy since the release of its trailer than the other games in the all-around controversial Grand Theft Auto series, the buzz around the game might even overwhelm the political backlash. These scanned photos from the newest Game Informer magazine reveal a little more detail about the game and its pretty incredible graphics.

The shot shown above is a great example of the realism the game offers, which we’re pretty sure is the reason NY politicians are steamed over the game. Hey, as long as there isn’t airplane themed terrorism going on, who the hell cares right? The main character is Serbian for gods sakes, not Afghani. Everyone just has to chill about it. It’s a game, not a cultural revolution. Or is it? Either way it looks absolutely amazing. (more…)
