FCC Approves Beefed Up WiFi

Do you have any idea how long it takes for me to download pictures of my favorite Enterprise captain, Kathryn Janeway, in the nude? A long time. This is because I’m running on a WiFi network that’s older than time itself. I’d be lucky if this thing wasn’t putting out harmful rays that will have me growing extra limbs.

It’s a good thing the FCC approved this new WiFi which comes from wireless airwaves between TV channels. It’s said to have a much longer range than conventional WiFi and is significantly faster. That’s going to make downloading porn a heck of a lot more enjoyable.

Water-powered Snakebot Firefighter Looks Like My Junk

We don’t get the chance to see many snakebots. There’s the Japanese M-Tran, a shape shifting robot, but that hardly counts as a snakebot. Anna Konda, however, is very much a snakebot. Despite looking and acting very similarly to a penis, Anna is really a firefighter.

Anna has 20 joints, each with 33 degrees of freedom, giving it an extensive range of movement. What makes Anna such a stalwart firefighter is not only does it shoot water, it’s powered by water. Each joint module contains hydraulic valves and cylinders capable of handling up to 1450 PSI of water pressure. The downside is, Anna will never go wireless. Fire hoses aren’t wireless, are they?

Land Rovers Grow Up

Land Rover is coming up on its 60th anniversary and to celebrate the occasion, sculpture artist Gerry Judah has created nothing short of a masterpiece. This 34 meter-high installation at the Goodwood Festival of Speed features several, from what I can make out, Range Rovers (?) scaling the structure. The entire thing weighs an astronomical 120 tons and is on display for all to see. Little is known on how the feat was accomplished, but one can imagine it took a lot of time and a whole lot of metal.

One thing remains certain: the Land Rover is still the ultimate vehicle for going off-road.
