Everett Bradford created this insanely awesome “Prometheus Device” which lets you shoot fire from a hand-mounted flame thrower. The device makes you feel like a real superhero, or supervillain, for whichever purpose you decide to use your new found powers, good or evil, is up to you.

Bradford’s also done a great job documenting the building process, but of course, continue at your own discretion as this project is bound to be more dangerous than your average garage project. In other words, say your goodbye to your eyebrows now. You’ll miss them when they’re gone.

Star Wars fan and tangled wire advocate Brian De Vitis managed to have one of the greatest brainstorm ideas ever. Why not take every console I own (all eight of them) and stuff them all into that R2-D2 replica I’ve had sitting around the house.

Have a few dead computer mouses laying around? They’re probably sitting in the same spot you keep the skeletons in your closet. You might be having some trouble parting with them. And that’s fine, totally normal. People become attached to inanimate objects all the time.

So, if you want to actually do something USEFUL with those dead mice, you might as well sit down at your work bench for a few minutes, wipe down the foot of dust on its surface from its lack of use, and strip down the mouse so you can use it as a nifty toothbrush / razor holder. Why the hell not, right?

What is the deal with all these people ripping apart perfectly good video game consoles in favor of upgrading them with the latest technology? Sometimes retro is better!

That being said, this is a nice looking iPod dock. It’s a broken iPod clock/radio shoved inside an Atari 2600 shell. My guess is that this mod took no more than an hour. Drill a few holes for speakers, a little Gorilla Glue and voila, you’re finished.

Parents with younger children, listen up.

This is a chalkboard fridge. By that, I mean that with a little time and money, you can turn the entire facade of your refrigerator into a damn chalkboard. This will keep your kids entertained for hours on end and will most likely keep them from drawing all over the walls. Essentially, you just sand down the front and paint it with that nifty chalkboard paint they sell at The Home Depot. But don’t follow my instructions; hit the link for the full details on this mod.

As much as I would hate to share a hobby with my grandmother, this urban knitting graffiti project, Knitta Please, is almost cool enough for me to take up knitting. I said almost cool enough.

A whole tree covered with a surface which resembles that scarf your aunt made you that one year. Now that’s taking crafting to a whole new extreme. Take the jump to see some more awesome examples.

Dads. I’ve got some news for you. This weekend, instead of watching your TiVo’d NHL playoff games, you’re going to be making this toy car launcher for your kid. DotaDabbled’s Instructable provides precise details on how you can create one using some wood, plastic and other miscellaneous doo-dads (pardon the pun) lying around the house.

Drink a shitload of bottled water or soda? Great. Stop throwing those empty bottles into the trash and put them to better use. Using Richard Bennett’s instructions, you’ll be able to build a greenhouse with those empty bottles and a few things from The Home Depot. Hey, if you can think of another way to use empty soda bottles, I’m all ears.

Truck drivers need to stay in their own damn lanes. They seem to think they’re driving Mini Beetles, while in actuality they’re inching their speeding 18-wheels a little too close to my fragile sedan. Now that I’ve finally found an excuse to chastise the driving of truck drivers, I can introduce you to Materialista, a project by Mexican artist Damián Ortega.

Suspended in mid-air are various truck parts. They are suspended in such away that it appears that a half-invisible monster mobile is lurking towards a highway near you. Look ma, no tires!

Two things are fantastic when made at home: lemonade and tanks.

Two brothers from Maine built this tank they call the Ripsaw MS1. It’s controlled by two people, a driver and a gunner. The most impressive feature is that it can hit 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 80 MPH. Not too shabby.
