Thank Me Later: DIY Portable Air Conditioner

It’s the middle of July and that means those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are really feeling the heat. With my current apartment, I have no air conditioning in my bedroom and during the day it becomes unbearable at times when temps start reaching the 90s. I need a way to cool off.

Thankfully, Instructables user Farhanians has posted instructions for a DIY air conditioning system that is not only efficient, it’s portable to boot. So now you have no excuse to be walking around your crib naked. Put on some pants, buy the parts and make the AC happen.

Famicom Sans Console

Remember that Nintendo Famicom which was built into an NES cartidge? That was cool and all, but a post on Ben Heckendorn’s console hacking forum by user Darkeru revealed a new approach which may have just one upped it. Not only did he manage to fit the NES inside the cartridge, he also has managed to embed a controller and a screen!

The catch? It doesn’t play cartridges. That’s alright though, since this hack relies on games already integrated into the chip. This prevents the bulkiness of having a cartridge sticking out of a cartridge and makes the system comfortable and more portable. It runs on three N-cell batteries, so don’t expect to be playing NES games endlessly.

Tangle Free Cord-Holding Bag Can’t Hold My Manhood

Hate dealing with wires as much as I do? The EZ Cord Bag is designed for unruly people like us who can’t maintain a group of wires without having them end up entwined with one another.  Perhaps the easiest way to hold an extension cord, the EZ Cord Bag holds up to 100 feet of cord tangle-free.  With a built-in shoulder strap for extra easy portability, it’s a surprise this bag sells for a mere $20.

Though, I must warn you. If you’re trying to use this bag as extra support for your over-sized pecker, it will not fit. I had a terribly embarrassing experience with an EZ Cord Bag on the opening night of Iron Man.  You see, my girlfriend was going down on me at the concession stand, holding my member in her hand as if it were a never-ending string of Gobstoppers. All the while, I’m enjoying the movie several feet away with my EZ Cord Bag packed in between my girlfriend and I as an intermediary.  When the movie was over and my girlfriend was no where to be seen, I scrambled to my feet leading me to trip over my EZ Cord Bag. The bag tore my manhood’s root out of my pelvis and I let out a blood curdling scream. I passed out and awoke in a hospital, vowing to use the EZ Cord Bag for cords only in the future.

Ben Heck’s Portable Atari 7800

Following his creation of a portable Atari 2600, Ben Heck was hesitant to make the 7800 portable due to the complexity of the motherboard. But Ben didn’t let that phase him as he’s finally finished the portable Atari 7800. The motherboard was larger than the 2600’s thus the unit had to be larger, so Ben slapped a 7-inch wide screen onto it to make up for it’s bulky size.

The system, with its corpulent form, still weighs less than a gallon of milk and runs on rechargeable batteries.  Even the Sega Game Gear is jealous of this thing! Though Ben claims it’s portable; it will never fit in your pockets like a Game Boy Micro will. Then again, the Micro doesn’t have quite the game library the 7800 has.

Mobile Park Loaded With Security Cameras

chameieon-1

Nowadays, people want everything portable. Everything means everything, even a playground full of children. Chris Duff has drawn out this transport design for a children’s playground called, “Chameieon Mobile Park.” Pardon?

Regardless, it’s designed with safety in mind. Equipped with two varieties of wheels, for varying terrain conditions, the “Chameieon” is said to be able to “adapt to different environments.” With cameras surrounding the vehicle, the driver is able to monitor the area. You can rock climb up the side of a van to be rewarded with a slide that goes right into traffic. No thanks. I’ll take my chances with the swing. (more…)

Sleek Portable Crutches Make Reaching For Your Bag Deadly

portablecrutches

Crutches that break down into a backpack sound great on paper. It’s hip. It’s trendy. I even like the colors. A disabled person is never going to utilize a bag like this, though. The reason? They can’t walk, so what’s the point of putting crutches on your back…for sitting down? They do fold up into a cool triangular bag. Maybe that’s worth something to someone who sprained an ankle.

Ugliest Nintendo DS Mods - EVER!

uglydsmods.jpg

These Nintendo DS design mods more closely resemble a knick knack you’d find gathering dust in your grandmother’s attic than a gaming console. If the people over at King Deco were itching to create the “least likely to be used” gaming consoles, they have succeeded with full honors!

In order to rock these hideous creations, you have to ship your own personal DS to King Deco and trust these people handling your precious console. Supposedly, they actually charge to have this done. I mean, come on!

The first one I could live with. Now as far as the other three monstrosities? *shudder*

Glow Gaming: If Your PSP Was Found Next To A Nuclear Power Plant

xcm_glow_psp_colors.jpg

If you can deal with the life-altering mutations and the screams of children as they gaze upon your disfigured face, there are some benefits to living right next to a nuclear power plant. One of the coolest being that cool natural glow. These XCM Magic Night Glow replacement covers for your PSP make the portable console look like it has been sitting next to a reactor a little too long with a glow in the dark sheen.

All you have to do is leave the PSP out in the sun for a few minutes, shut off all the lights, and watch as the PSP glows a bright shade of green, blue, or orange. The color selection is your choice, and luckily, you and your mutated face can order the covers right online, without leaving the comfort of your very own cage. Grab your own for about $25 each.
