Portable Bookshelf Doesn’t Make Much Sense

estudio-bookshelf1

I’m not sure why you would lug around an entire bookshelf when you could just throw all of the books on an e-reader and carry around an entire library in your pocket. Maybe that’s the “conceptual” point. Fighting the power! Or something like that.

The transportable bookshelf is made using crates originally used to haul fruit. I love, love, love books, but I think in this case I’d prefer the fruit. Plus, I didn’t have any breakfast this morning.

Entire NES Console Built-In to NES Cartridge: No Blowing Required

nes_cartridge_portable

If you’ve been looking for a way to carry all of your old NES games around without having to lug around the entire NES console this project will probably flip your lid.

A clever modder built an NES emulator and a display inside of an old NES cartridge. But that’s not all. Aside from NES, this cartridge is also capable of playing Game Boy games, Game Boy Color games and MP3s.

Korg microSAMPLER: Take the Show on the Road

korg_microsampler

I’m Mixmaster GEARhead and I’m here to say, I use the microSAMPLER ev-ery-day. Not really, but I would if I could afford it! Specifically designed for taking your show on the road, the microSampler is a compact and portable sampling keyboard. And it’s made by Korg, so it’s gotta be good.

Grab samples from an in-line, the built-in gooseneck mic or even through the included iPhone / iPod dock. Samples can be attached to every key on the keyboard with helpful LEDs illuminating to show the sample’s status. But compact goodness doesn’t come cheap. 500 buckaroos and this bad boy can accompany you to your nephew’s bar mitzvah or at whatever event you’re planning to perform.

Review: AKG K 340 In-Canal and K 450 Over Ear Headphones

k-450

After years of building up their name in the recording industry, AKG released a slew of consumer headphones, ready for us in the States to dabble with. I’ve had the opportunity to play around with both the K 340 and K 450 models, both portable, though in-canal and foldable respectively. After a week or so of listening to these phones it became clear that AKG is just as serious about their consumer headphones as they are about their professional grade equipment.

Disposable Flasks

leopard-flask

The next time you head off to a baseball game, concert or event in a park, try bringing one of these nifty disposable flasks. They cost a mere $2.55 each, so they won’t break your wallet. The best part is that they initially come flat and grow bigger with more liquid, making it easier to stuff into your crotch right before the security checkpoint.

Metal Detecting Sandals

feetsandals

Truth be told I’ve never been one to use a metal detector. I just don’t have the patience to wander around the woods or a beach searching for buried treasure. But with the advent of new technology, all that’s about to change. I’d seriously consider these metal detecting sandals from quirky products reseller Hammacher Schlemmer. You walk around with them and sure enough, a little device strapped to your ankle will beep when it detects metal below your feet. At $60, it seems like a decent gift for Father’s Day or something similar.
