Jet Airways to offer private quarters

While one airline contemplates adding even more crampage to airplanes, another is focusing on making the intimate first-class seats even more intimate. Which we must say, we must prefer. Jet Airways announced their plans to integrate private suites into their planes which would only house two people.

Each passenger has their own wardrobe hanging area, a pullout sleep quarter, along with office capabilities. Each of the Jet Airways’ Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts will have eight of the luxury suites. Commercial jets have never been so luxorious. Tickets will cost around 4000 euros ($3000). (more…)

GTA IV gameplay details unleashed

Blah, blah. We’re sure you’re probably tired of hearing about the controversy surrounding GTA IV by now, but now is when the excitement about the actual game itself sets in. Some new details have been released concerning the gameplay of the newest addition to the Grand Theft Auto family. The most interesting fact you’ll probably hear is that you can fly across Liberty City in GTA IV, just not in planes. Planes are substituted for copters in this bad boy. Though flying is said said to be a significant part of the game.

Also recently revealed is that the method of car driving has been changed some, with an altered point of view compared to the other GTA games. Sources say it more closely resembles Midnight Club than any other GTA game. One of the only people to see an early addition of the game has this to say, “The visuals are tremendous and easily some of the best I have seen. What’s scary about this statement is that Rockstar North is still improving upon the visuals. There’s little question that it will be one of the best looking games come this holiday.” Ahhhh, we wanna play now! — Andrew Dobrow

Airplanes to become even more uncomfortably close

It seems that a new concept for seating arrangements might make planes even more uncomfortably intimate. The Freedom concept (Freedom, my ass) by Premium Aircraft Interior Group, would create an additional column of seats by positioning passengers in opposite directions. The design “enables their shoulders to overlap, minimizing the width of an armrest between each occupantâ€?. Yeah, that’s just what I want. My armrest to be exchanged for my neighbor’s shoulder. Perhaps they won’t mind if I use them as a pillow as well. — Andrew Dobrow

New autopilot feature might make another 9/11 impossible: Sensors on a Plane

Scientists at Boeing have developed a hijack-proof piloting system, designed to make it impossible to crash the plane into buildings or ground. The feature would be activated either by a simple switch, in close range, or through door sensors which could sense when the cockpit door was forcefully opened (which we think would lead to many false alarms). Once triggered, no one on board would be able to deactivate the system.

The system, witch was patented secretly through Boeing last week, will connect security services and ground control through radio waves and GPS systems, which would then allow the plane to be piloted remotely from the ground, acting like a sophisticated model airplane. The plane can then be landed at a militairy base or a commercial airport using an autoland system. The key to the feature is that once it is on, no one on the plane is in control of the destination anymore. The system is planned to be fully integrated into planes within the next three years. — Andrew Dobrow
