Same Old Pixel Couch?

Pixel-based furniture isn’t anything new and though this couch isn’t the coolest pixel art around, it does look interesting. Good luck finding wallpaper to match.

Designed by Cristian Zuzunaga and produced by Danish manufacturer Kvadrat, this pixel-based couch is said to be a total chick-magnet. One female glance towards the couch results in immediate action. You’ll be fucking fat chicks in no time.

Pixelated Posey Necklace is Perfect for Mother’s Day

pixelnecklacepretty

Geeks, software engineers and bloggers take note: Mother’s Day is May 11th. Don’t disappoint Mom again this year by giving her shit like that self-erasing paper she can’t figure out with Python code written all over it (import > loveyamom.py.) Moms love stuff like flowers, gardening and jewelry. Why not get her a gift that draws influence from all three - yet - still lets her know you’re her special dork?

Enter the Pixelated Posey Necklace. A beautiful pixelated lilac hangs from a purple lace strap ever so elegantly. Plus, there’s a good chance your mother is in love with lilacs. At $25, you really can’t go wrong unless UPS breaks it.

Remember. May 11th. It’s a Sunday. Don’t say I didn’t give you the heads up…

Street Art Makes The World More Pixel-y

Found on the streets of New York, located on the NYU campus, between 2nd and 3rd St. by the Barney Building, sits a hidden gem of street art. Captured and uploaded onto Flickr by user hungryghoast, the “Flowing Pixel” street sculpture depicts a faucet spitting out pixelated water.

The piping sort of reminds me from that secret area in Super Mario Brothers’ where you would press down while in the center of one of the pipes on the first level, and be thrust into a little room pull of gold coins. Bonus round FTW! — Andrew Dobrow

Man Catalogs Star Wars Action Figures With Help Of Pixel Art

If you’re to take a trip over to Joshua Budich’s website, you might be confused by what you find. At first glance it appears as nothing more than a showcase for a gallery of somewhat lame Star Wars-themed pixel art. But as you click further with your mouse, you discover a hidden secret.

The pixel art is just the begining. Budich goes on to document a wide array of Star Wars action figures. I’m not sure if the catalog is a complete Star Wars toy encyclopedia, but the contents are pretty fun to browse through, especially accompanied by the little pixel people (and droids). — Andrew Dobrow

Needlepoint Nintendo DS Case looks like pixel art

Needlepoint is usually an art form only associated with rocking chair sitting grannies. Isn’t it time for a change? This DS case was made by needlepoint, and frankly, I just couldn’t see my grandmother making something like this. Then again, my grandmother hasn’t reached the needlepoint stage in her life yet.

It’s actually pretty cool because the needlepoint gives it a pixel-like appearance, so it works out for the whole gaming case. Next Christmas, ask your granny to knit you one of these. She’ll be thrilled you’re talking to her, even if she’s mortified of technology. — Andrew Dobrow
