Google today announced Google Voice, an improved version of the GrandCentral service it’s been offering since acquiring the company back in 2006. Before you jump for joy, realize that yes, there is a wait list for invitations and people who signed up for GrandCentral will get first dibs. Among some of the new features Google will be rolling out with Voice include voicemail transcripts, Goog-411 integration and of course, the ability to use one number to ring all your phones.... Ah, yes. The Samsung Memoir from T-Mobile. It was to lead the charge of the next-generation of cellphones. After all, it has a touchscreen, 3G speeds, an 8-megapixel camera and a variety of other features built-in so it must be good, right? Maybe. The Samsung Memoir, on paper, appears to the hottest phone to hit the market since Apple’s baby boy, the iPhone. Let’s review the features, shall we?

I spent my morning with the other journos in New York, where T-Mobile and Google together unveiled the T-Mobile G1. The G1 is a smartphone manufactured by HTC and it runs Google’s open-source Android OS. These creepy sheep are part of an art installation in Creepsville. If you take a closer look, you’ll see the head of each animal has been replaced with a rotary phone circa 1955. Their legs are made up of handsets and the wool is actually a bunch of intertwined phone cords. Who knew such a piece of shit could become a fully-fledged work of art? Link (via)

Word on the streets is that Motorola has picked out a name for their next line of phones. The creative RZR and KRZR seemed to really take off, so there’s no reason why the new multimedia phones “Moto ZiNE” shouldn’t take off either.
