Eating With A Stick Was Never This Elegant

Remember the Ballpoint Eating Utensils I wrote about a few months back? This Outdoor Cutlery reminds me of that concept, though this time made for the outdoors man, rather than the cubicle man.

If your out in the woods, with none of your beloved silverware at hand, it would be nice to have a set of suitable cutlery to get the job done, without having to worry about getting a splinter on your tongue. The only thing you have to worry about is finding a branch laying around which tickles your fancy. After that, it’s just a matter of clipping the utensil heads onto the stick. — Andrew Dobrow

DIY Sprinkler For Under $5

If you have ever lived in a suburban neighborhood, you know how obsessive people can be about their lawns. You can hear your neighbors outside at 2 a.m. whispering words of encouragement to their plants. It borders on lunacy really. If you are one of these people, but you lack the funds to get a proper sprinkler, about $5 and a few minutes of work will provide you with a suitable substitute.

All you need is a 20 oz plastic bottle with a cap, 1 universal male hose attachment, 15 old ball-point pens, Plumbing contact adhesive and sealant, an electric drill with a 3.8″ and 5/8″ spade bit, and a utility knife. Most of that you probably have lying around the house, if not the price may be a little higher. Still, it will probably be cheaper than buying the real thing. Solar keyboard, oh yeah, computers are INDOORS

genius solar keyboard

Solar power is going to save the world! Too bad our keyboards can’t harness it’s power. The people who made the Genius SlimStar 820 solar keyboard didn’t quite relize that we don’t use our computers outdoors. Now, you might say that your lights indoors work. No they don’t’ it’s called solar power for a reason. So now that we’ve taken out the main feature of this keyboard, how about the fact that it can run on a regular battery too? A saving grace. So while we won’t be running out with our new Prius to buy this “green” keyboard, if you happen to have a waterproof computer, go for it! –Nik Gomez
