Hooray For A Very Happy Up And Coming New Year Event

Looking for a way to impress all of the females at your New Years party but not tech savvy enough to make your own robot? Well, there will be plenty of champagne at your party, so why not turn those wasted corks into miniature chairs. The girls will think they’re cute and by showing them your creative side — the girls will think you’re cute, too!

Listen, dude. You’ve never had a better shot of getting laid on New Years than today. Heed my advice: buy a boat load of champagne, get everyone drunk and then make these miniature chairs. Coitus will soon follow.

Acer Aspire One Reviewed

I really enjoy using the Acer Aspire One for just about everything. Blogging, retro gaming, porno — you name it, this little netbook can do it. Well, running Crysis on high settings isn’t going to happen, but one can try.

The New Experience Has Arrived

If you turned on your 360 yesterday, you probably were flabbergasted at the new interface that’s been getting some mixed reviews. Whether or not you like the new dashboard interface matters not, the new experience is here to stay.

Don’t forget to fashion your new Mii-like avatar to look like your least favorite dictator. Mine is a spitting image of Cambodia’s Pol Pot. That should scare away any strangers who consider adding me to their friends list.

As My Rock Band Guitar Gently Weeps

Originally people thought that the Beatles would make an appearance in the latest Rock Band game. It turns out that MTV Networks announced a deal with the Beatles’ record label, Apple Corps, to create a Beatles-branded music video game. The same developers behind Rock Band will be making the game, apart from its already successful Rock Band franchise.

“The project is a fun idea which broadens the appeal of The Beatles and their music. I like people having the opportunity to get to know the music from the inside out,” Sir Paul McCartney said.

I’m thinking something like Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, except without the suck. It’s even been approved by Yoko Ono Lennon, herself. So, you know it’s going to be good.

Trying Out The New Xbox 360 Experience

I hope you’ve been preparing for the new Xbox experience because it’s going to change the way you play your 360. No doubt you’ve heard that Microsoft has completely revamped the dashboard, bringing with it a new design and avatars that give core players the casual feel of the Wii. Is this a good thing? It sure is according to Engadget.

Joshua Topolsky of Engadget wrote up a positive preview of the new Xbox experience which will soon be your new dashboard. In the preview, he comments on the likeness between the Xbox 360’s marketplace and iTunes. Additionally, he mentions the Netflix feature which allows you to shuffle through movies in your queue. I’m thrilled about the new Xbox experience, I just hope my 360 doesn’t turn into a Wii. Look for the update to hit your system come November 19th.

HP Unleashes New Netbook With Two Flavors

2008 has been the year for netbook madness. Ryan ordered an Acer, my friend John got an Eee PC and now HP is coming out with a new netbook that appears to be quite the offering. The Mini 1000 features a 1.6Ghz Intel Atom CPU, either a 8.9-inch or 10.2-inch display and up to 2GB of RAM. SSD is available in a 16GB drive or you can get a 60GB HDD for more storage. You can, of course, expand your storage via a USB memory stick as well.

As far as the OS goes, you can choose an Ubuntu Linux install that HP is calling the “MIE OS.” MIE stands for Mobile Internet Experience and essentially, it presents you with a bunch of commonly used apps and tasks that looks like an HP TouchSmart PC. Not bad. XP is also available for those looking to go a little more mainstream. The XP version of the Mini 1000 is available today for $399 with 512MB of RAM and an 8GB SSD with the 8.9-inch screen. For $50 more, you can score the 10.2-inch version. Look for the Linux version in early 2009.

Apple Updates iPod Shuffle

If you want to call it an update, that is. For $49, you can score a 1GB iPod Shuffle in one of four new colors: blue, green, red and pink. Your old pal silver is still available, just in case you read too many Ziggy cartoons as a child. Apple has a 2GB version available as well for only $69, making it the better deal. Are you as excited as I am for these brand-fucking-new colors? Glad to hear it.

Motorola Readying Android Phone

Little is known about Motorola’s Android endeavor but the public will surely welcome another Google phone. Word on the street is that Motorola is preparing a touchscreen iPhone competitor that will run the Android OS and will feature a full QWERTY keyboard. Unfortunately, the unnamed phone won’t be available until Q2 2009, so don’t hold your breath.
