Nerd Family Makes Homemade Narnia Gear

narnia-clothes1

If you’ve ever delved into the world of fantasy, and really, who hasn’t at some point, you likely understand that while your mind is a powerful device, one thing it isn’t capable of doing is allowing you to feel the press of authentic fantasy gear against your skin.

This geek family takes their Narnia play very seriously. So seriously that they decided it really wouldn’t be a worthwhile experience unless they made their own Narnia themed outfits. The family created a full-regalia outfit for all four of the Pevensie children (that’s Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy for those of you not cool enough) including gauntlets and chain mail. Much more after the jump.

“I Can Solve the Petaminx and You Can’t, Therefore I Rule” So Says Smug Rubik Nerds

petaminx

Congratulations asshole. You can solve a Rubik’s Cube in negative .802934 seconds. Now go choke or something. And by “or something” we of course mean you should move onto something a little more challenging so we can point and laugh at your frustration. The insanely and overly difficult Petaminx, created by Andrew Cormier, was designed using 975 individual parts and 1,212 stickers. The whole production process took around 75 hours, which happens to be the amount of time it’ll probably take you to solve the damn thing.

And sure enough, the whole creation process is documented, so if you were so inclined, and nerdy enough, you could create your very own Rubik’s-inspired puzzle of death. In fact, I think the word Petaminx is French for “don’t even fucking bother.”

Star Wars Rube Goldberg Machine Is Nerdy, Even For Me

Star Wars Rube Goldberg Machine

It’s not sophisticated by any stretch of the imagination, but a true nerd can appreciate the effort these fans put into their Star Wars Rube Goldberg Machine. In reality many of the Star Wars aspects of the theme are superficial, but it ends with a bizarre reference to corn on the cob, which is so retarded I can’t even talk about it. Check it out for yourself in the link below. — Sean Fallon

Star Wars stamps continue the USPS campaign

starwarsstamps_1.jpg

Before their emergence into public use, we told you about R2D2 mailboxes celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars. To continue the commemorative campaign, now emerges the Star Wars stamps to go along with the mailboxes. The official Star Wars stamp series comes with 15 different designs, all featuring familiar faces from the movies.

And if that wasn’t nerdy enough, there is a poll being held at the site for USPS Jedi Master to choose the favorite stamp design, which will be featured on its own sheet once the poll is over. We voted for the Yoda stamp. We’ve always held a place in our heart for the little old green guy. So far, there has been 25,164 votes cast with 55 days to go. You can expect much more. — Andrew Dobrow
