Super Mario Bros. Characters Made Using Poker Chips

super-mario-poker-chips

There’s not much you can do after you’ve lost all your money playing Texas Hold ‘Em. Can’t go out. Can’t order food in. You’re broke and left with a set of (I swear the damned things are cursed) poker chips. What’s a geek to do? Eureka! *light bulb switches on* An idea arises!

You might be broke, you might be shamed and you might be homeless after betting away your home, but nothing can separate you and your geeky creativity. This broke bastard took time out of his totally open schedule to create characters from Super Mario Bros. entirely with poker chips. Sort of bit-tastic if you ask me.

DIY: Paper Mario Hat With Shoddy Graphics

Everyone loves cosplaying as their favorite Italian plumber. All it takes is a red shirt and some overalls and all you’re missing is a hat and phony mustache.  Well, don’t worry about buying some expensive Nintendo-licensed product made of fabric. Instead, make your own Mario hat with nothing more than some paper, printer ink and Band-Aids. Just don’t try grabbing any fire flowers in the Mushroom Kingdom because this hat is anything but flame retardant.

Fear And Loathing In The Mushroom Kingdom

What do you get when you mix Hunter S. Thompson with the Mario Brothers? A whole lot of hallucinogenic mushrooms. That joke is the reason I won’t do two shows a night.

Streamline Mushroom Ambiance Lamp = Groovy

mushroomlampgroovy

Mario fans will most likely go apeshit over this lamp. It’s a fantastic, smoothed out replica of the mushroom power-up from Super Mario Bros. that doubles as a lamp. But it’s not just any lamp. It’s an Ambiance Lamp.

That’s right. Experience the ambiance this lamp has to offer whilst you drink Absinthe and listen to chiptunes in your beautiful Parisian setting. Call on your servant to deliver the finest magic mushrooms available in your countryside so that this lamp will deliver unto you it’s golden light. All for $40. Not a shabby deal.

Mario Slippers Let You Walk Like A Plumber

mario_002.jpg

If you still find yourself walking like an Egyptian when you hear a dance-worthy song, it’s time to consider yourself being out of the times. Not that donning a pair of Mario slippers will make you any more hip (actually they’ll more than likely have the reverse effect).

But damn, if they aren’t the coolest mushroom themed slippers ever. — Andrew Dobrow

Mario should move to Turkey

mush1.jpg

Take a trip to Akbuk Bay, Turkey and you might be surprised what you find. Scattered along the shore are cottages which strike flashback images in my head of the sleepless nights I spent devoting my life to saving Princess Peach from the Goombas.

Seriously, how awesome would it be to live inside of a 1up mushroom? And were these homes designed to resemble them? If it weren’t for a lack of  polka dots on its red top, I would say definitely. (more…)

All the benefits of Mushrooms, without the hallucinations

mushrooms_1.jpg

We all need some stress relief in our life every now and again. Some people choose to accomplish this taking mind-altering substances, such as hallucinogenic mushrooms. Others prefer to squeeze the living hell out of a Super Mario Bros. stress relief mushroom. There are four models to choose from including the 1up mushroom, the poison mushroom, the super mushroom, and awkwardly shaped question-mark block.

We’ve always wanted one of these squishy stress relief thingys, but always were too manly and studly to feel the need to buy one. These just look really cool though. For $8 you can own one. We still haven’t decided whether thats over expensive or a deal. We love squishy things though. — Andrew Dobrow

Super Mario 1-up Mushroom Scarf

super mario mushroom scarf

We would totally rock this scarf on the upcoming winter days, if only our relatives were hip enough to understand our inner geek as well as our outer geek. $95 seems like a lot for a scarf, but considering it’s 75″ long and is stylish as hell, we know a lot of people who would shell out the cash. If you remember playing the original Mario on Nintendo, there is no way not to feel a magnetic force of nostalgic attraction when seeing the 1-up mushroom. We can almost hear the sounds of the game in our head. Wait, that’s not in our heads, it’s on our TV. — Andrew Dobrow
