Smallest Recorder Ever! Not Just For Espionage

Narae Recorder Mini

If you have a job where interviewing is as common as an Obama “Hope” ad campaign and you just so happen to always have your laptop on you, you might find the Narae Recorder Mini right up your alley. Finally, a reason to get rid of that old digital recorder you’ve never used (unless it also does video.)

The Narae Recorder Mini is insanely small. It plugs into any standard mic jack and doesn’t stick out more than 3″ max. Don’t let its small size fool you, as the Bluetooth wannabe recorder can record sounds up to 32 feet away. This makes it a great gadget for recording people who don’t know they’re being record. Lawsuit? Blackmail? Espionage? This thing’s got more uses than meets the eye!

Talent Show Kit Provides More Fuel For Family Snorefest

Family night in my home usually meant a pizza dinner and a board game, but I’m sure other families would have more extravagant festivities, which possibly included nudity and chanting to Satan. While my family was never much for rituals, it would have been nice to have something like the Talent Show Kit.

It’s a karaoke machine, a mic, and an amplifier all built into one mic stand-esque gadget. A removable mic allows the performer some roaming space as they croon to the moon like a werewolf. Or at least that’s what it probably sounds like. Just hand them a fake and cheer when they stop moving. They’ll never know the difference. Get yours for $80. — Andrew Dobrow

Solid Year webcam keyboard combines tech in more odd places

Have you ever wanted to talk and stare into your keyboard instead of those darn mics and webcams? Probably not, but if so, this new Solid Year Keyboard (ACK-2230UMSP, how bad can you get at product names?) is definitely for you. This keyboard combines text, audio, and video all into one simple device. With a fold out little stick type device and 10 Skype dedicated VOIP buttons, you can now video conference with your friends directly from your keyboard. While this new device does open up some new boundaries, there is still the question of whether those boundaries needed opening. While Solid Year says that there will be future higher quality audio and video add-ons for the keyboard, you are still stuck looking down at your keyboard for the video function.

Also, even though no prices have been released yet, this keyboard will have to have a hefty price tag. Of course, there are still plenty of high end keyboards on the market right now that will run you well over $100, there still remains the question of whether this peripheral to your computer is really worth that much money. Instead of this, go any buy a decent webcam that can sit on your desk or on your monitor. You will probably get higher quality video, and you won’t wind up with a crooked neck just because you wanted to video conference your friends. — Nik Gomez
