Mega Man Boss Battle Rubik’s Cube

megaman_rubiks

And you thought the six boss battles were tough when there WASN’T 54 square blocks in need of organizing.

The Mega Man Boss Battle Rubik’s Cube features scenes from all six boss battles. Your job is to complete the images, finessing all of the blocks to their proper positions using only your plasma arm cannon. But can you do it underwater?

DIY: Mega Man Knit Hat

Mega Man was always one of our favorite gaming heroes. There is something about superhuman strength and the ability to shoot plasma from a personal arm cannon that floats our metaphorical boats.

If you’re into cosplay or really just love classic gaming, there is really no excuse for you not to lock your grandmother in a closet and threaten her with starvation until she knits you your very own Mega Man Knit hat. Hopefully no force is necessary, but you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do. No promises, grandma.

It Sucks: Mega Man II Hits The iPhone

mega_man_2_screenjpg

I realize that Steve Jobs is really psyched about turning the iPhone and iPod Touch into fully-fledged gaming platforms. That’s great. There are tons of fantastic games for these devices, produced by powerhouse studios and publishers like Electronic Arts. Unfortunately, the classic NES title Mega Man II is not fantastic. Look at this retarded control scheme Capcom set up. It looks like somebody whipped those graphics up in five minutes using Macromedia Flash 4.

Of course, you’re going to play it for a few minutes and become incredibly frustrated. According to reviews ’round the ‘net, the game is nearly impossible to play, especially with so many tough jumps and enemies. Thought the original was easy? Now is the chance to really hone your skills. It’s now available on the App Store for a mere $4.99.

8-Bit NES Games Go 3-D

Japanese design firm Tibori Design reimagined several classic Nintendo games in 3-D form. Titles include but aren’t limited to The Legend of Zelda, Excitebike and Super Mario Brothers. My personal favorite is Cut Man from the Mega Man series. He just looks so…right.

Mega Man 9: Call It A Comeback

You’d best get to your local convenience store and stock up on some Mega Man energy drinks because Mega Man 9 is coming – again. Knowing Capcom, it’ll probably come ten more times because Capcom just can’t quit anything.

Mega Man 9 has been given a release date of September 24th for the WiiWare in Japan. No word on an American release date so far but we’ll keep our eyes peeled. The game is expected to launch on the PSN and Xbox Live as well, but no news or dates have been announced. One can dream!

Mega Man Energy Drink

I think we can officially declare the energy drink market over-hyped. Mega Man, who’s known as Rockman in Japan, is coming out with an energy drink called Rockman E Can Drink. It resembles the energy capsules from the classic Mega Man titles. It’s about $1.25 for a can and probably tastes like complete ass.
