Storage in Stairs: The coolest thing since sliced bread

IMG_0016_1.jpg

I can’t even begin to explain how much clutter fills my house at the moment. With the ever growing stream of gadgets I have flowing into my house, I’m simply running out of room to put shit. This ingenious design from Vogue Living Australia installs drawers into your stairs, allowing for a completely optimal use of space.

We’re sick of big and bulky dressers filling our limited living space. And not only that, but thieves would never think to look for drawers in the stairs if, God forbid, your house ever gets broken into. — Andrew Dobrow

The “really” Easy Chair

easy1_1.jpg

People who live with a limited and compact living space, which includes most of us, have a hard time arranging and squeezing in the few things they need to feel comfortable. The Easy Chair is a design concept that begins as one chair, and unravels to reveal two chairs and a table.

The Easy Chair could seamlessly be adapted for outside and inside use and is definitely a sure space saver. With how compact everything is becoming, we wouldn’t be surprised if someone could live entirely out of a 10 foot by 10 foot room. — Andrew Dobrow

People who have a limited amount of space in their apartments or houses have a tough time finding the space to house a productive recycling system. All of those beer cans and cardboard boxes your porn comes shipped in add up fast. Creating even less room in an already cramped living space. The Ecopod Recycling System aims to offer a compact way to be eco-friendly.

The Ecopod crushes all plastic or aluminum containers you throw into it, storing 50 crushed items in a slide out plastic pod which can easily be slid out to the designated area. The Ecopod doesn’t even run on electricity. It crushes via manpower using a foot pedal. Beneath its lid there are two other pod compartments to house all other recyclables such as newspapers and glass. Available now for $328. — Andrew Dobrow

Use your kitchen as a centerpiece

sheer kitchen sphere

Here is a fine solution to free up some of the cramped living space in your house. This spherical kitchen-in-one “Sheer Kitchen” is one well designed piece of cookware. When closed, the sphere serves as a beautiful carbon fiber centerpiece with a built in mood setter, a soft glow lamp to help create an intimate feel (maybe a nice way to break the ice with that special girl *wink wink*). The top of the sphere lifts to the ceiling with the help of a remote control, leaving the bottem half of the sphere as the work area. In it’s 148cm diamter the Sheer Kitchen manages to stuff in a double sink, four burners, three bottle coolers, a retractable table, trolleys, and a human genome sequencer. More beautiful pics after the jump.
