Light Saber Remote Control makes Jedi jealous

light_saber_remote_w.jpg

Remote controls are usually a dime a dozen. A flat piece of plastic with assorted buttons strewn on one side is a nice generic description of most remote controls. The Light Saber Remote Control adds some flavor to the same old, same old. Design company Taito, designed the Light Saber Remote out of sheer spite for the conforming designs of remote controls, while adding a geek enhanced skin of Star Wars fanaticism.

The Light Saber measures 7.87″ in length and contains the same general control buttons you might find on a normal remote control. They come in a selection of either off-white color or a black/off-white color. For only $20, you can own a remote that recently deceased remote control inventor Richard Adler would be proud of displaying. — Andrew Dobrow

Darth Vader is bigger than you remember, for no apparent reason (four times bigger in fact)

For reasons that escape us, Medicom decided that designing a 12″ tall vinyl Star-Wars toy would be a good idea. For those of you keeping score at home, that’s a 400% growth from the original 3″ size.

Both the helmet and the light saber are removable, just in case any sand-people might be trying to break into your house. Why in the world would anyone need a 12″ Darth Vadar doll? We can see why die hard collectors would want it. But for those of you who are sane, you might find it as odd as us.

Odds are we’re buying one. — Andrew Dobrow

WiiSaber - Mac users, the force is with you

wiisaberFor all of you envious of the legendary Jedi Guy videos, the Mac users among you might now be able to live out your dream. The application, WiiSaber, turns your Wiimote into a fully functional light saber, which you can swing and attack with as if you were a Jedi in training. Those of you who remember the MacSaber, which was a similar application, but for MacBooks, already have a basic understanding of the program. Now, instead of your MacBook being the input device, a handy code allows for you to plug in with your Wiimote. More functions are planned to be added, but for now, all of you Jedi’s are Jedi’s-in-beta. — Andrew Dobrow
