LEGO Android App Lets You Control Your Mindstorm NXT Bots

Hands down, the most convenient way to build a robot in your own home is LEGO’s Mindstorm NXT set, which fuses robotics and LEGO bricks in a combination of geeky and nostalgic joy. LEGO just released MindDroid, an Android app which lets you remotely control your Mindstorm creations from your Android device. MindDroid uses Bluetooth to wirelessly connect to the NXT control module built into your LEGO bot. Once connected, you can control your robot by using the phone’s built-in... Continue reading

So This is Christmas: The Nightmare Before Christmas LEGO-ized

I can’t attest to being a crazy The Nightmare Before Christmas fanboy, as I don’t think I’ve ever even seen the movie all the way through, but I always did love Tim Burton’s style. This film vignette captures that style pretty well despite the fact that it’s completely composed using LEGO bricks and accessories. Emulating the now iconic poster art of the Nightmare Before Christmas, whomever created this LEGO scene has a lot more patience and Tim Burton fandom than... Continue reading

LEGO Yoshi

My only question is — when the hell did Jared from Subway start building LEGO sculptures? Pretty impressive work, even if Yoshi’s nose is large enough to swallow a medium sized planet. I’m surprised Jared isn’t being sucked in by its gravitational pull. Oh, that’s right, Jared has his own. It’s funny ‘cuz he’s FAT. Link [via]

LEGO Transformers Characters

I’ve always wanted to own my own set of Transformers, but who has the room to fit an entire set of massive robots in their home, let alone a tiny apartment like mine. But hey, I can have something even cooler. My Transformers transform into individual LEGO bricks. All you have to do is bash them around a little and POW, transforming magic. And all in a limited amount of space.
