Boston Market: LEGO Edition

06chicken

How does one create such a juicy, delicious masterpiece of brickery? Sure, it doesn’t have 50,000 pieces and may not resemble a George Lucas-inspired spaceship, but hey, if there’s one thing humans love, it’s chicken. Delicious, slow-roasted chicken breast, glazed in honey and PVC plastic. Mmmmm. I wonder how Martin Jaspers, creator of this masterpiece, designed the oven. It’s very detailed – so much so, that it rotates the chicken. Tasty!

The SoulArc Skateboard Is A Board Within A Board

In an effort to exhibit the sense of surfing in skateboarding, Mitch Mulder came up with this design during a class project at Kendall College of Art and Design. After realizing he made a worthwhile draft he partnered up with Salvaore Vilardi to attempt to market the board.  It looks way more fun to mess around with than that 360.

The SoulArc is reminiscent of a long board except it’s tall structure and spring clad trucks allow for the transfer of energy in a manner similar to carving a wave. Mulder is one skateboarder who was sick and tired of riding planks. Now, he wants to market the board as a way for surfers to get around on land. No word on the price of the board but check out their official site for future availability.

Land Rovers Grow Up

Land Rover is coming up on its 60th anniversary and to celebrate the occasion, sculpture artist Gerry Judah has created nothing short of a masterpiece. This 34 meter-high installation at the Goodwood Festival of Speed features several, from what I can make out, Range Rovers (?) scaling the structure. The entire thing weighs an astronomical 120 tons and is on display for all to see. Little is known on how the feat was accomplished, but one can imagine it took a lot of time and a whole lot of metal.

One thing remains certain: the Land Rover is still the ultimate vehicle for going off-road.
