Wool Viking Helm For Harsh Winters And Pillaging

Filed under: DIYs, Design, Internet, Wearables

I’ve always wanted my own viking helmet just so I can reenact my favorite parts of Beowulf, but steel is uncomfortable and it’s getting cold outside. That’s why a better alternative to a steel viking helmet is this wool helm made by Cynthia Rae of Candypop Creations. It’s $7 bucks and that turkey drumstick (which goes so well with the hat) is sold separately.

Knitted Ash Looks Nothing Like Me

Is this some kind of a sick joke? This knitted doll looks nothing like me. Well, maybe the hair. Regardless, Hannah J. Simpson made this knitted Ash doll that’s supposed to be me, but doesn’t look a thing like me. Good thing she’s not selling these, otherwise you’d be getting ripped off.

Buying a doll with my name on it that lacks the rugged Latin features which truly characterize myself is like buying a monotone soccer ball. No flavor, no spun-wait a second…

…Is this supposed to be Ash Williams from the Evil Dead movies? It all makes sense, now.

Crocheted Foot Long Has The Works

Seeing this crocheted sandwich makes me hungry for a hoagie. Etsy seller Candypop Creations is crazy for crocheting and it shows with this foot long sandwich I’m just dying to sink my teeth in to. All I’d get is a mouthful of yarn, but with a vivid imagination that yarn could taste like my favorite sandwich from DiVellos Deli. What the hell is that black thing with the multi-colored dots? It looks like a burn Keebler M&M cookie.

Knit Touchpad Will Render Clothing More Useful

I’ve always wanted to integrate a touch pad into my clothing and thanks to Hannah Perner-Wilson (aka Plusea), that dream could become a reality. For those not familiar with Plusea, she’s all about wearable computing. Her latest work, the Knit Touchpad, is just like the touchpads we use on our notebooks, except this one is made of fabric.

It works with an anti-static glove that Plusea uses to scale the four corners of the fabric pad. Thanks to her intricate walkthrough at Instructables, this DIY yields a lot of potential for wearable touchpads in the future. I can’t wait to add one to my built-in keyboard pants.

Luckily, there’s Cassie’s handmade scarf. It’s a scarf with level 1-1 from SMB. Yes. The entire level. Exactly what you were looking for, except it’s not for sale.

God damn.
