Playstation 3 owners, your time has come.
After waiting over 4 years for this amazing technical feat of a game, you can finally walk into a store and purchase Killzone 2. Of course, if you didn’t pre-order at Gamestop, you might as well run to a Target or Toys R Us for a copy. We’ll be picking up our copy this weekend and I’m personally psyched to try out the multiplayer.
Anyway, this has been a public service announcement. As you were.
Apparently, a lot of people got pissed off about Sony’s little pay-to-play scheme that involved pre-ordering Killzone 2 in order to receive a code for the demo. Yes, the very same codes we gave out the other week. Sony is now trying to save face by offering up a “limited number of downloads” of the demo. The catch is, you’ll have to fire up Playstation Home (ugh) and look for a guy dressed up as a Helghast soldier. Ask him for a code and ye shall receive. This is US-only and the Helghast guy can be found anytime tonight after 9pm EST. Good luck!
Winners of our contest are probably gearing up right now to download the Killzone 2 demo. They got the codes, I have a code and it just finished installing on my PS3. I am beyond psyched to play it and will report back tomorrow with first impressions.

Let’s cut right to the chase: time is running out on our contest for a Killzone 2 beta invite. We have two we’re giving away and suggest anyone with a Playstation 3 to get in on it. All you need to do is leave a comment letting us know why you love Killzone 2 and your PSN gamertag, along with a valid email address.

We have two invite codes to give away. All you need to do to get one is just leave a comment on this post describing your love for Killzone 2 and why you think it’s going to kick Halo 3 and other shooters right in the ass. Got it? Cool.
So leave a comment with the above info in mind between now and January 30th. We’ll pick two winners at random but you must comment with a valid email address, first name and valid Playstation Network gamertag. Why do we need this info? We want to make sure we’re giving these invites to true PS3 gamers who want to play Killzone 2 and not just scalp these on eBay.
Also to keep in mind: The beta does not begin until February 5th according to our source, so no need to worry. However, if Sony changes this date to an earlier time, we will post an update and give you 24 hours notice to enter. After that 24 hours, we’ll close the contest and give the invite codes out to ensure you can logon to the beta as soon as possible.

If you’re not excited for Killzone 2 then you probably lack skill in first-person shooters. With online modes revolving around class-based skirmishes and support for up to 32 players, how could you not be excited? Step aside Call Of Duty 4, there’s a new first-person shooter on the rise.
