Eee PC Shoved Inside A Keyboard

asuseeekeyboardpcjpg

Forget netbooks. Displays and portability are both overrated. You need peripherals with entire PCs shoved into them and you need them now, hungry man. Lucky for you, ASUS had just enough time to whip up a keyboard with a whole goddamned computer shoved inside it. Standard 1.6Ghz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, etc. Not a powerhouse, but hey, it’ll do.

The kicker is that the Eee PC Keyboard has a small five-inch touchscreen you can use in conjunction with an external display. It even has HDMI out! Wow! I hope you’re as wet as I am, ’cause I’m ready to drop the $400 on this bad boy.

Microsoft has confirmed some details for its core console replacement, the Xbox 360 Arcade. The new Xbox will feature 250 MB of on board memory card storage, as well as 5 pre-loaded games, including Pac-Man and Uno.

Also likely to be featured is a wireless game pad, as well as HDMI output, though the standard RCA will still be included for pricing reasons. The original core package plans to be phased out rather than offered with a lower price tag. The Arcade will be available for a rumored $280, and will most likely be released soon. — Andrew Dobrow

Toshiba forgets about next-gen DVD with two new DVD players

toshiba rd-s600 hdd dvd

Are you completely sick and tired of hearing about the constant battle between what companies are supporting Blu-ray or HD-DVD? Well, even though toshiba is decidedly HD-DVD, they have just released two DVD or HDD players. In interesting part (and a disadvantage to some) is that they have no support for either Blu-ray or HD-DVD.

The two models are named the RD-S600 and the RS-S300. So what do they offer instead of next-gen DVD tech? They offer huge hard drives. The 600 and the 300 offer 600GB and 300GB drives, respectively. They have DVD burners, an HDMI port, and and upscale your content to 720p/1080i video. No price released yet, but those hard drives won’t be cheap. — Nik Gomez

Apple Cinema Displays to have HDMI technology

apple cinema display

This might only be a rumor as of yet, but we heard through the grapevine that the next generation of Apple Cinema Displays might have HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) capability. It might not sound like much, but what HDMI allows is pretty impressive. HDMI enables the transfer of totally uncompressed streams of media, while keeping the HD goodness. Apple freaks out there might appreciate this news more then others, but we are predicting other companies will follow Apple’s lead in the near future, and might even become a mainstream technology. Those Apple user’s out there who have dreamed about watching Debbie Does Dallas on their cinema displays could be in for a treat. — Andrew Dobrow
