Global Warming Mug Plans Our Demise

globalmug1.jpg

Sure, this mug might not be as risque as the Undress Me Mug, but the message is even more powerful. As the mug heats up, the pictured ice caps vanish before your eyes, offering a pleasant message with your morning coffee and bagel.

If the mug gets hot enough, all that’s left is water. Lots and lots of water. Is this the future we face? I wouldn’t be too worried unless we are actually living in some weird mug shaped universe. — Andrew Dobrow

Which tech company is the greenest? One hint: It’s not Apple

OK, well no company is not quite there in being all green, but some are definitely better than others. Green Peace released their third Guide to Greener Electronics. Apple is by far the worst offender of non-green electronics, with Panasonic and LG tied at second worst. Lenovo leads the pack as the most green of the bunch.

No company is yet to have totally “gone green” and we don’t know if electronic companies ever will. Global warming continues its scare on the global community and many companies have made very valiant efforts at creating a more environmentally-friendly production, but according to Green Peace, we still have a long way to go. — Andrew Dobrow

Retro Rewind: The 1924 electric car

If you’re reading this, odds are that you weren’t alive to see how early of a jump people got on creating environmentally friendly cars. The pictured article was published in the April 1924 issue of Popular Mechanics. While the motive behind the article was most likely for sales reasons and a certain “cool” factor and not for the post-discovered global warming, the idea of electrical automobiles being thought of in the 1920’s shows a growing concern for the future of oil and fuel.

We’re glad we don’t live in the time where the electric car could only bring you 5 miles before it needed a recharge. With how heavy the thing must of been using all of the metal that they suggest, it’s a surprise the thing could move at all under its own weight.

Catch the jump for another pic.

UV Hawk Ultraviolet Sunlight Meter saves your skin (from cancer)

The number of skin cancer occurrences increases with every year, as does the fear of global warming. Wouldn’t it be nice to have some sort of meter around to let us know exactly when the suns rays are crisping us at an unhealthy level? Ta-da! The UV Hawk Ultraviolet Sunlight Meter does exactly that. It’s a portable meter you can tote around with you to always be aware at what level the suns harmful rays are burning you.

Of course, there hasn’t been a conclusive study done on whether or not global warming is actually occurring, but the evidence is pretty clear. Too many “coincidences” can only add up to form a fact, and those coincidences are adding up pretty quick. When will the time come when we really NEED these sort or meters, rather then want them for precautionary measures? Don’t get us wrong. We like oil guzzling tank cars just as much as the next guy, but this is scary, scary stuff. Note: Not to be used in conjunction with the UV Disinfectant Wand. — Andrew Dobrow
