Someone Call Lando, There’s A Party

It wouldn’t be Monday without the obligatory Star Wars post. This Star Wars themed wedding posted on Flickr has all the guests dressed in their favorite Star Wars characters. The groom as Admiral Ackbar is for some strange reason or another settling for some Corellian chick. Where are all the Mon Calamari women?

Complete with an At-At Walker based cake, this wedding had nearly everything. Holy moly, even Lobot made an appearence:

The Only Way George Lucas Can Stop Gaining Weight

The Japanese aren’t the only ones who are Star Wars crazy. The fans know the difference between an actual Millennium Falcon and one made out of batter. Japan held a Star Wars celebration for fans of the epic sci-fi saga to come show off their designs and art related to Star Wars, like that AT-AT from the streets.

Bonnie Burton of the Official StarWars.com Blog uploaded these pictures on Flickr showing George Lucas frozen in carbonite just like the unfortunate Han Solo at the end of Empire Strikes Back. Serves him right for all the lousy editing he did to the classic trilogy. Quick! More transitions!

Cheapest Money Clip Sold For Top Dollar

Money clips can be made out of anything. Paper clips, rubber bands, you name it and a money clip is made of it.  Designer Scott Amron is trying to dupe people into buying either a $12 pre-made money clip or a $9 DIY kit to make your own. The design is simple: a dollar bill with one end taped with a magnet and the other end taped with a piece of metal.

It folds around your wad of bills as if it is just another dollar among them and it is! This simple and efficient design for a money clip makes me wonder if it would be more rewarding to forgo Amron’s offer of a DIY kit in favor of an attempt to make your own similar concept for a slimmer impact on your budget.

R.I.P. George Carlin

A sad year for comedy, indeed. George Carlin was admitted to St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California on June 22, 2008. He was complaining of chest pain upon admission and was known to have a history of cardiovascular issues.  He died later that day at 5:55 p.m. PDT of heart failure at the age of 71.

To our favorite comedian, George Dennis Carlin, the amazing atheist, for 71 years of wisdom, hardship, and most of all, laughter.

Macworld: Chestnut Hill George iPod dock lives up to expectations

chestnut hill sound george

Remember that post about the Chestnut Hill Sound George iPod dock? Well, after testing out some of its features quickly today, it has lived up to be what it has been rumored to be. There are additional capabilities that were not mentioned before. Primarily, the best feature is that it is completely firmware upgradeable. They have said that they are planning a new firmware release that will allow their radio to get onto the new HD radio channels. Commitment to product lifespan is something that is great and everyone should support. We should have a George of our own soon to do a full hands-on review. — Nik Gomez
