Killzone 2 Is Out Today

killzone2box

Playstation 3 owners, your time has come.

After waiting over 4 years for this amazing technical feat of a game, you can finally walk into a store and purchase Killzone 2. Of course, if you didn’t pre-order at Gamestop, you might as well run to a Target or Toys R Us for a copy. We’ll be picking up our copy this weekend and I’m personally psyched to try out the multiplayer.

Anyway, this has been a public service announcement. As you were.

Mutated Mutie In Fallout 3 Goes AWOL

We’re bug crazy. We might be called Gearfuse today, but tomorrow we’ll be called Bugfuse.

What happens when a radioactive mutant goes berserk on a stairwell in an abandoned and destroyed hotel? Nothing, really. I stumbled upon this guy while feverishly searching for a fusion battery. I took some potshots at him and went for a pick pocket, neither one achieving any success. When I loaded out and came back, the mutie was gone.

Not quite as impending as the exploits found in the game, but defintely a surefire way to rid the player of any immersion he/she once had. Again, nice job by the QA team at Bethesda Softworks.

Resistance 2 Has A Major Online Bug

Resistance 2 is quite the game. I picked up my copy yesterday and while I very much enjoy it, it currently possess a critical flaw that detracts from enjoying the game with a friend. If you log in to the game with two controllers and you try to play split-screen co-op or deathmatch online, it automatically disconnects you (and rather quickly I might add) from the game. This is a huge issue primarily because I bought the game to play with my roommates in split-screen mode. Now we’re stuck handing the controller over each round and it gets boring watching other people play the Chicago level over and over again without being able to hop into the action.

In other words, Sony and Insomniac Games need to fix this, stat.

I noticed that this is starting to become a trend. Release a PS3 or Xbox 360 game full of bugs, wait 1.5 months and patch accordingly. Not cool. I’d rather wait another month for a title to be released if it means less bugs and reliable online play. Wouldn’t you?

Japanese Version Of Fallout 3: The Bomb Never Happened

Fallout 3 is about to hit Japan’s store shelves and news has emerged claiming that the developers, Bethesda Softworks, have made changes to the game to more comfortably appeal to the Japanese market. You can probably guess from here what changes have been made, but just in case your a little rusty on your history, I’ll tell you.

Why Do Wii Fans Enjoy The Wii So Much?

What really makes the Wii so popular? Is it the robust library of games? Can’t be. Is it the faulty control mechanism? Anything is possible. What about the fact that Nintendo has the cheapest system on the market but you’ve got to buy twice as many controllers at marked up prices just so you can play with friends? Nah, that’s not why people like it.

Oh, this video explains it all! It’s the reason why people love the Nintendo Wii so much.  In this video found on YouTube, we see the stereotypical Wii user in action playing one of the first-person shooters featured on the Wii that more than likely has no blood in it. Watch as his excitement and pleasure become fulfilled by his best friend and companion who gets stirred up over the Wii, thus proving the Wii is as exciting as getting fucked by a dog.

Killzone 2 Multiplayer Screenshots

If you’re not excited for Killzone 2 then you probably lack skill in first-person shooters. With online modes revolving around class-based skirmishes and support for up to 32 players, how could you not be excited? Step aside Call Of Duty 4, there’s a new first-person shooter on the rise.

These new screenshots of multiplayer action are compliments of the fine folks at CVG. It’s like there’s a party behind my eyes and only Sarah Palin is invited. Yeah, baby. Hit the jump to see some screens.

Doom 4 Confirmed

doom4rendering

I’m pretty sure Doom is the single greatest contribution to the computer to grace our planet. It defined the first-person shooter genre and every sequel just kept getting better and better with Doom 3 blowing everyone away a few years back. Now the latest installment, Doom 4, has been confirmed by id Software’s CEO, Todd Hollenshead. The above picture is supposedly a shot from the new title.

Currently, id is looking to hire “the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry” for its signature title. No release date has been given but apparently the game will be released on both console and PC simultaneously. OK, you can get back to Grand Theft Auto IV now.
