World’s Fastest R/C Car Goes Faster Than Your Real Car

pocket-rocket

46-year-old Nic Case designed this R/C car which smashed the previous speed record by nearly 30 mph. Traveling at a max speed of 161 mph, the Pocket Rocket is the fastest R/C car known to exist. Case’s goal is to make a R/C car which can travel at 200 mph.

While the chances of finding yourself a remote-controlled car that can travel at speeds any where near that of the Pocket Rocket is unlikely, it’s cool to know that it can be done if you’re willing to spend the time and money on a toy.

CyberPower’s Core i7 Gaming PC: The Black Pearl

Intel’s Core i7 processors are wicked fast. Faster than that new Lamborghini we know nothing about. Of course, the earliest devices that will utilize the processor are gaming PCs. The Core i7 was officially launched yesterday and computer companies like CyberPower are already stocking the assembly lines with this quad-core powerhouse.

CyberPower unveiled its latest and fastest gaming PC, the Black Pearl, which will pack the Intel’s new Core i7 processor inside. With a 3.2GHz 965 Extreme Edition CPU and a sickening 12GB of RAM, this computer is looking too fast for its own good. Crysis on the highest settings powered by a dual ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphic cards with 2GB video RAM? Ain’t nothing for this PC. Try two Crysis’ on the highest setting running simultaneously. This computer can handle it, no problem. There plenty of room for all your pirated software, so storage space will never be an issue. It has two separate 300GB HDD, 10,000RPM SATA II units from Western Digital. Or perhaps you’d prefer to use the 1TB, SATA II drive, which is also included. Not bad for a gaming rig that’s only priced at $3,999.

Make Like Bond and Skip The Toll Booth

Know how James Bond got that beautiful Aston Martin he drives? Well I’ll tell you right now he didn’t get it by paying for tolls like a sucker. With increasing prices on toll booths in Philadelphia, New York and other greater metro areas, people are always looking for a way to save a buck.

Now for $121, you can score a remote control RF license plate cover for your vehicle. While you’re driving, just hit a button and a piece of plastic will slide to cover your plate. It looks like it’s designed for European-style license plates but I’m sure with a little DIY modding, you can get it to cover up yours. Seems well worth $121 to me if you’re a speed demon.

Lamborghini’s Enzo Rival Spotted

If you thought the Ferrari Enzo was fast and exotic, wait till you see what Lamborghini is working on. This new model, supposedly named the ‘Jota’, will feature a monstrous V-12 engine delivering at least 700 horsepower to all four wheels. With one huge exhaust pipe, crazy bored out wheels and curves that would make Queen Latifah jealous. It will also borrow some parts of the body and such from the Lambo Reventon.

I want to believe, but until I see it on Top Gear, the Enzo is still the champ in my mind.

The Greenbird Is Quite Fast But Only When She Blows

This is the Greenbird. It might not look like much but it’s going for the world record of fastest wind-powered vehicle. It was designed by Dale Vince of Ecotricity and engineer Richard Jenkins. The current world record is 116.7 MPH and Dale Vince hopes to crush that speed at the dry salt flats at Lake LeFroy in Western Australia.

Using aeronautical techniques and merging them with marine and Formula One technologies, the Greenbird is part aeroplane, part sailboat and part race car. It’s a speed demon only when the wind is blowing. The light carbon composite structure gives it a light weight while the hard sail maximizes its wind thrust. Will it have what it takes to top the record speed? We shall see.

Kick Ass and Take Names With These Golf Carts

Don’t fuck around on the green? Want to show that prick in accounting that you really mean business? Then stop playing with your cock and head over to Bad Ass Golf Carts. For $12,000 to $18,000, you can own a golf cart that’s more equipped for a trek across the Sahara rather than teeing off.

There’s several choices available. Need seating? Grab a limo that seats six. Consider yourself the greatest American to ever live? Grab the Hummer model. Now if only you could get a little nitrous going on these bad boys…

Road Rash Inducing Fast

It may not be the hover board from Back To The Future but it’s almost as dangerous. The Altered Pro Module 600 wireless electric skateboard is the only skateboard guaranteed to get lady attention. With a wireless remote for controlling the acceleration and braking of the skateboard, who needs legs?

It can go from 0-19 MPH in only four seconds and can do an 8-12 mile trek on a single charge. Talk about pro-boarding! Those are some mighty intense speeds for a board. You could always wear a helmet but then you’ll also have to disregard the “lady attention” mentioned earlier.

Tip: tackling worn-out Fast Port connectors on SonyEricsson phones

seconn.jpg

The SonyEricsson K750 and W800 are one of the most readily seen phones on streets nowadays, they’re pretty good phones really, the Walkman and camera both work reasonably well. The biggest problem with SonyEricsson phones is that the “Fast Port” (for charger/data/headset connection) is not the most well-designed, since you’re attaching everything to same port, it tends to wear out so much faster than other brands that have separate plugs for headset and power for example. There has been immense discussion over user forums concerning this issue, different people tried different things: alcohol to swab the dust and rust off, or simply buying a new cable; fortunately the Fast Port is improved on newer phones. Earlier today we spotted a pretty smart tip on one of the Chinese forums, and it worked really well with our super worn-out w800i. The trick is to give the 2 delicate spring-metallic flaps (circled above) on the connector some push, once they’re warmed up and bounced back to their original positions, you’re good to go. Try that out and let us know if it works for you too. –Sam Chan
