The iPhone 3.0 OS Update

iphone3os

So yesterday, Apple held one of its little private conferences where they go over some sick new product or service. This time, it was the iPhone 3.0 OS. So much stuff was covered that there’s no time for jokes. Let’s dive right into this shit:

Apple iPhone OS 3.0 Coming Soon

iphone-3g

Next week, on March 17th, Apple will invite several journalists to California to show off a new version of the iPhone OS. It’s rumored to be the 3.0 update, which would bring MMS, copy-and-paste and an improved SDK. Of course, these are all rumors but it’d make sense. Apple is really behind in the game of picture messaging and the ability to copy-and-paste would turn the iPhone into a true Kindle killer.

But the big rumor is that Apple will enable Bluetooth tethering with the iPhone, allowing you to use it as a 3G dongle for your laptop. One can dream, right?

YouTube To Feature Live Event Broadcasting

YouTube is still looking for ways to show fresh new content to its users. So, come the 22nd of November, it is launching YouTube Live. This brings a whole new webcasting aspect to YouTube. Artists, musicians, bedroom bloggers and Internet famous people like the Star Wars Kid will be able to get some extra publicity as this event will bring to life many of the videos that YouTube viewers have already made popular on the site. Keep your eyes peeled for 10 Alternatives To The Wii Fit to be broadcasted live!

LEGO Ferrari Comes With A LEGO Pit Crew

Yesterday, the LEGO World event began. To promote the event Leon Krijgsman of Jetix (more X-Men, please) rolled through the streets of Amsterdam in this LEGO Ferrari F1. This automobile is made up of 80,000 LEGO bricks and that’s not counting the LEGO pit crew who maintain it.

The event will be held in Zwolle until the 21st and will demonstrate some of the most innovative projects regarding LEGOs. Perhaps we’ll see more LEGO automobiles or maybe even another tower of LEGOs. So long as no K’NEX projects make an appearence, I’ll be happy.

Macbooks On The Cheap

You’ve already heard all the news that’s sprouted from the latest Apple event. Vince briefly mentioned the new price for the old Macbooks – $999, making it Apple’s first notebook under $1,000. However, is this price cheap enough to pull consumers in?

Many Windows notebooks are priced between $500 and $1,000 dollars, which leaves room for any upgrade deals you want to make. On the other hand, the old Macbooks price dropping to $999 will leave little to be desired considering the new Macbooks are only $300 more. With that, there isn’t much reason to not fork over an extra $300 for the better rig, unless of course you’re really on a budget.

T-Mobile G1 Data Plan Information

I spoke with my peeps at T-Mobile today and was informed about the pricing plans for the G1. You’ll be able to get 400 text messages and unlimited Internet + data for $25 a month. For $35 a month, you get the same with unlimited texting. Not too shabby but considering that you need a voice plan for the phone, expect to spend $80 or more a month as a G1 owner. Worth it? We’ll see come October 22nd.
