The Perfect Pair of Beach Flippy-Floppies

beach-flip-flops1

I’m not much of a flip-flop or sandal guy, but my fiancee really digs them. When she’s not working, flip-flops are usually her shoe of choice, so needless to say, on trips to the beach, she’s flip-flop obsessed.

These Aperitivo Flip Flops designed by Tommaso Colia feature a circular cup holder built right into the shoes design. When your chilling out on the beach, sipping on your favorite summery beverage, these flip-flops would serve as a great way to hold your drink upright. No gurantee that the big hole in the heel is the most comfortable modification ever.

Pepsi Natural: An Alternative For The Rest Of Us

pepsi-naturaljpg

It’s late at night and your World of Warcraft raid just started. You’re tired and know the only way you’re getting those sweet, sweet epics is to gulp caffeine until your stomach hurts. Instead of reaching for the standard fare, like Red Bull, why not give Pepsi a try? I’m not talking about your standard Pepsi here, I’m talking about Pepsi Natural.

Pepsi Natural is a new initiative from Pepsi that brings back the classic glass bottles that our parents often reminisce about. Additionally, ingredients include pure cane sugar, sparkling water and kola nut extract. No high-fructose corn syrup for us, thanks very much. It’s a different taste for sure, but one that most people will find surprisingly refreshing. Now all that’s left is to score a free case from Pepsi. Pepsi, are you listening? Send over some chips and a few bottles and we’ll be square.

Fast Foot Papercraft

japanaburgers

Care to grab a bite to eat? Make sure it’s the real thing. This Japanese papercraft features what appears to be a tasty burger, some weird fish sandwich, “Fried Potato” and a soft drink. Unfortunately, just like the real thing, this papercraft isn’t free. It’ll cost you $6 but won’t leave you feeling fat and unsatisfied.

Cocktail Chemistry

Now you can act like a mad scientist all while secretly being a complete drunk. This $40 Cocktail Chemistry set features a drink shaker, as well as some test tubes and a beaker all with laboratory logos slapped on ‘em. Mix some battery acid, Jack Daniels and seltzer water together and you’ve got yourself a Dirty Hyde. It’s a drink I invented when I was tripping balls and reading the Robert Louis Stevenson classic.

Seriously, don’t drink it.

Lemon and Lime Slice Cubes

I love the concept of these Ice and Slices trays. Slice up a lemon or a lime, put it in the tray, add water and freeze. Presto. Next time you have a vodka cocktail or something equally fruity on the rocks, you can just drop in a few slice cubes of lemon or lime. Genius! Only a mere six bucks.

Ironic Coffee Poster Is Actually Useful

If you’re one of those people who relies heavily on a craft cup of coffee each morning, you’ll find this chart very helpful. It shows you how to make different drinks involving espresso. The Caffe Mocha, Americano and Caffe Latte are all here. Just add said amount of espresso, pile on the steamed milk and add a little foam. Presto! Caffeine at it’s finest. Just make sure you have an equally impressive mug.

Bottle Cap Craze

Just in time for the 2008 Green Design Festival in Athens, Greece comes a fresh look from Athanassios Babalis. Keeping it eco-tech, Athanassios created a shopping bag and a stool from recycled bottle caps. Think it was an easy task? Oh my friend, you are quite mistaken.

Babalis collected the caps from his workmates and an extended network of friends using 370 to make the bag and 1250 for the stool.

That’s a shitload of bottle caps but it probably wasn’t too hard acquiring them. Unlike Pringles, caps aren’t incredibly hard to design things with. Hit the link below to see a diagram that explains the entire process.

Siphon A Gas Tank With The Constructable Drinking Straw Kit

Ever want to drink from two different drinks, simultaneously? Shouldn’t be too hard with a constructable drinking straw kit. The rubber connector pieces come in several leak-proof designs so you can construct all sorts of abstract drinking mechanisms. At $14, much fun is to be had constructing a gas tank to gas tank siphoning kit. Who says you need to breathe in toxic fumes to get free gas!?

So I got one and tried out two different drinks simultaneously. One glass of Sunny D and one glass of Yoo-Hoo, finished off at the same time. It was not looking good for me that following morning.

Another Stunning Rube Goldberg Machine

So you’ve seen the Star Wars Rube and the perhaps that viral ad Cadbury did with the eggs. Now we’ve found a Rube Goldberg machine that most Americans would be proud to build. It’s none other than a cocktail-mixing machine! But not just any cocktail…

This Rube Goldberg machine makes sheer delight out of the process of mixing a Falling Water ( 30mls (1Oz) 42BELOW Feijoa Vodka, lemonade, long slice of seedless cucumber, ice

Personally, I’d prefer a machine that could pour whiskey into my mouth in 10-minute intervals. That’s a slice of heaven in my book.
