Unlocked HTC Dream/T-Mobile G1 Being Sold Worldwide

Some online retailer is selling the HTC Dream, otherwise known as the T-Mobile G1 and Google Phone, unlocked and ready to roll. Get ‘em while they’re hot. At $700 a pop, however, I’d think twice about plunking down that hard-earned cash. That is, unless you’re a drug dealer. Then it’s not hard-earned whatsoever.

Dream CAPTCHA Rids Us Of Software Nightmares

The CAPTCHA process is famous for preventing spam and helping translate books. So, Jeffrey Augustine went back to third grade arts and crafts to create the Dream Captcha. It’s inspired by Native American dream catchers and the “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart” used by many online sites to inhibit automated software from posing as you or I. Say goodbye to CAPTCHA nightmares and hello to sweet dreams.

LG’s Latest Portable DVD Player

LG makes every product under the sun. You name it, LG probably mass produces it. LG also enjoys marketing bizarre combination of electronic equipment. Take this 8″ portable DVD player, the LG DP889. Little excessive on the numbers, don’t you think?

Well, this portable DVD player not only works as a normal CD player but it also happens to be a digital photo-frame. Now, when you aren’t watching The Dark Knight on it, you can gawk at family photos as you dream of days past. It’s compatible with a plethora of formats, including DVD video/DVD±R/DVD±RW/Audio CD/CD-R/CD-RW, ensuring nearly any burned disc will work. It’s priced at $200, making it the most diverse digital photo-frame in existence and while, not quite as compact and portable as the Panasonic LF-P968C DVD burner, it’s certainly getting there.

Rumor: HTC Dream Will Include Sidekick-esque Hardware

Just got a tip from an insider at T-Mobile (or is it Google?) that tells me the HTC Dream will feature a keyboard and trackball almost identical to the Sidekick. Does this mean we could see a Sidekick competitor on T-Mobile? It’d be an odd move but the Android-based Dream will most likely be for the geeked out power user.

That’s about it for now. More information as it comes…
