Our beloved gadgets are constantly becoming more and more expensive. Almost expensive enough where we are going to have to resort to other means to get our gadget fix. These crafty gadgets are no more than stuffed plush toy imitations of our beloved gadget ware. Though, they are almost cool enough to join the ranks of our beloved gadgets themselves.

Something like this being invented is an extremely good thing. Cuddling with my real digital camera leaves me with sores all over my body from its hard edges. This will be a nice substitute. (more…)

Kodak 1881 Pocket Locket Camera concept

1881_kodak3_1.jpg

Many memories and sentimental nostalgia has become associated with lockets. You usually display pictures of the deceased or loved ones in lockets to keep them close to your heart. With that in mind, the 1881 concept was designed to reference the heritage and value of heirlooms, with a twist of added tech goodness. The 1881 has a built-in digital camera with the goal being to add to the medium at which you can store loved photos.

Every time the 1881 is opened, favorite photos of yours are displayed, just in case you need a memory to reflect on. It’s such a good idea because you can’t really know where you’re going until you know where you came from. The 1881 is a gadget concept dedicated to do just that. (more…)

This patent design from Nokia gets us all hot and excited. The N99 slider phone, which is now evidently confirmed from this patent, is going to be one pretty looking cell. Along with the gorgeous QWERTY keyboard and widescreen display, the N99 will also house an unruly 8 MP digital camera.

And oh, how we love the tablet style twisty number pad. The pad seems to be able to fold so that it can be used even in QWERTY mode. This thing is looking gorgeous. — Andrew Dobrow

Canon PowerShot A640 Reviewed

canon_powershot_a640_1A.jpg

LetsGoDigital has reviewed the Canon PowerShot A640 Digital Camera. The A640 is a 10 MP camera with a 4x optical zoom and is an addition to the Canon A-Series of cameras, which is geared towards reasonable price, accessibility, and high quality mechanics. Because of these goals the A-Series has become a popular line of camera among a broad spectrum of photographers and hobbyists.

The review describes how the A640’s tilting LCD display is a “definite advantage” over other companies models with similar specs. From the previous model of the A620, the resolution has been increased from its previous number of 7 MP and the LCD screen has been increased in size. The review is a complimentary one and even calls the A640 “beautiful” at one point.

In the conclusion the LetsGoDigital reviewer writes “There are still some things that could be improved upon. Take the noise ratio at 400 ISO and higher ISO settings. They are good for a ten Megapixel camera, but not totally clean.” While high ISO levels are clearly a needed tool for many, if you are a hobbyist looking for a camera to capture some great shots on the weekend, the A640 seems like a smart choice. — Andrew Dobrow

Pro Viewer Binocular Camera: Now take photos while you peep!

pro viewer binocam

Here is every 15 year old peeping toms dream. A set of binoculars that lets you take photos of whatever you happen to be staring at. Whether it be trees and nature or your neighbor’s window, the Pro Viewer gets the job done. The binoculars feature a 8x non-digital zoom and a 2.1 mega pixel camera with a resolution of 1600 x 1200. Not the top of the technology spectrum, but we can assure you that binoculars look a lot less incriminating then a digital camera if say, your neighbor’s father caught you looking in his daughters window from a tree like in Back To The Future. And with a nice edition of an SD card slot, you can keep those pictures clicking all night.

Pure Digital’s new camcorder hit with Vloggers.

pure digital psv-352 camcorder

A vlogger’s dream camcorder was born with Pure Digital’s new Camcorder. This compact camcorder is just the perfect size to capture all those moments you’d never catch, or even have, lugging a regular camcorder around. With 1GB of memory built in, you can record up to 60 minutes worth of video without adding any extra memory. This new camcorder has all the features of a normal camcorder, from one-touch recording to a zoom feature. Remove the necessity of cables with an extendable USB arm; very nice if you seem to be constantly uploading videos off the video camera. Also included is a TV cable so you vloggers (video bloggers) can preview your content before putting it on the internet for billions to look at (that embarrassing clip doesn’t look so funny anymore, does it?). Sharing your videos with family and friends (or the whole world) is easy with the included software. If you are obsessed with filming everything, spending $140 should be a great deal for you. More pics after the jump.

2.5 Gigapixel digital photo: Huh, pretty big

2.5 gigapixel digital photo

Day in and day out, we sit here and drone on about the magnificence of cameras that take lower then 10 megapixel photos. And all this time, we could of been droning on and on about a 4 Gigapixel camera! Stupid us. The 2.5 Gigapixel photo in question was created using 600 seperate merged images taken with a 4 Gigapixel digital camera on top of a building in the Netherlands. In our opinion, they could of chosen a better landscape then the barren looking buildings they chose for the shot, but hey, to each his own. The complete photo was a staggering 7.5 GB with the amount of merging time topping out at almost an hour and a half. That’s one fat ass picture! Though zooming in and out of the photo on the site is an entertaining experience. — Andrew Dobrow

BenQ DC X710 Digital Camera loses some flub

benq dc x710 digital camera

We are really starting to love BenQ. It seems that everyday another announcement or preview is released with their name stamped on some cool little gadget, and the X710 is just another great one to add to the BenQ collection. The ultra-thin and sleek design make this 7.2 megapixel digital camera a force to be reckoned with. The addition of a 3 in, high resolution LCD screen, aids you in taking beautiful pictures of your ugly family, and breathtaking landscapes of your own lawn (my lawn is better).
