Unfortunately, it’s only in Spanish at the moment, but if you’re desperate to let everyone know when you’re eating and shitting then I’m sure you can get around the language barrier. DSTwitter is free, all you’ve got to do is follow these steps:
Prepare a memory card (R4DS) and the DS’s WiFi connection. Register to the Scene Beta website. Username and email required. Download the DSTwitter 1.3 .RAR file. Extract the contents “in the root of the memory card.” Input Twitter login. Run the program.
Before you know it you’ll be Twitter-ing it up at a McDonalds WiFi hotspot, letting all your friends know that you just ate three big macs in a row. It’s interesting to see what fans will come up with in terms of development for the DS. As for myself, I’m waiting for the TumblrDS in English, so thanks but no thanks.
Digi-Key has unleashed its power house single-board computer called the Beagle Board. This developer dream board is perfect for DIY projects and ground level design work. Don’t judge it by its size either, its processor: the ARM Cortex A8, runs up to 600MHz while delivering over 1,200 MIPS (million instructions per second). It packs quite a punch for a 3″ x 3″ board.
It connects to your computer via mini-A to standard-A adapter with a high speed USB 2.0 port and even supports 1280×1024 DVI-D video output. Listen, I could go on and on about the heat this baby’s packing, but it’d be best to get one for yourself and try it out. Maybe you’ve got what it takes to make a game on it, or even better: a robot. It’s relatively cheap, too. At $149, its the least expensive, most powerful development board on the market that I’ve heard of.

Enter the ArduGame, a hand held device that runs a small game that has yet to be named. Using an OLED display and the controls of an old Sony PSP, the folks at BricoGeek have crafted a fine piece of gaming hardware that could potentially put the portable Atari 2600 to shame. It finally proves that the Arduino is a fun and flexible tool for game programming.
The video game industry comes up with a lot of crap. But now and then, there comes a game which everyone holds their breathe for, anticipating its release like a child on his birthday waiting for gifts. I’m pretty sure Doom is the single greatest contribution to the computer to grace our planet. It defined the first-person shooter genre and every sequel just kept getting better and better with Doom 3 blowing everyone away a few years back. Now the latest installment, Doom 4, has been confirmed by id Software’s CEO, Todd Hollenshead. The above picture is supposedly a shot from the new title.
Currently, id is looking to hire “the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry” for its signature title. No release date has been given but apparently the game will be released on both console and PC simultaneously. OK, you can get back to Grand Theft Auto IV now.
