Mixa: Mixtapes For The Future

mixa_landscape.jpg

I can’t even count the number of old mixtapes I have lying around my house. It’s a shame that everything is digitalized now because I had some really great mixes put together. Mixa tries to mix the old art of the mix tape (those who lived through the era know it was an art form) by offering a 1GB cassette shaped USB drive.

Mixa allows you to design your own design for the face of the cassette, or you can choose a pre-made one. Whatever floats your boat. You can get your own Mixa tape for around $40. It’s not the same as the real thing, but it will have to do. — Andrew Dobrow

Design your own watch in your own abode

121time.jpg

121TIME is an online store that lets you design your own watch to your own specs, without having to leave your desk. They offer the best of customized and personalized Swiss watches, which your wrist will thank you for.

Watchmakers are tapping into the internet to sell their custom products, with a order-to-ship time of only 10 days. While you might not be able to make a watch like the Hublot diamond-encrusted monster million dollar one, you can definitely make something that reflects your own style and makes your wrist look like a fashion statement. — Andrew Dobrow
